The TEAC VRDS-701T CD Transport is a reference-quality compact disc transport designed for audiophiles who already own a premium external digital-to-analog converter. Built as part of TEAC's prestigious Reference 700 Series, the VRDS-701T incorporates the company's latest Vibration-Free Rigid Disc-Clamping System (VRDS) mechanism to deliver exceptionally stable, low-jitter digital playback.
Instead of including an internal DAC, the VRDS-701T focuses entirely on extracting the highest possible quality digital signal from compact discs. Its newly developed semi-floating VRDS mechanism reduces vibration, improves disc tracking accuracy, and minimizes servo correction for cleaner digital output. Coaxial and optical digital outputs allow seamless connection to virtually any high-end DAC.
Designed to pair perfectly with the TEAC UD-701N or other premium DACs, the VRDS-701T also includes a professional-grade 10MHz external clock input, dual toroidal power transformers, and TEAC's precision-built aluminum chassis for uncompromising performance.
VRDS Disc-Clamping System — TEAC's patented Vibration-Free Rigid Disc-Clamping System stabilizes the disc by clamping it against an aluminum turntable with the same diameter, reducing vibration and improving tracking accuracy.
Semi-Floating Transport Design — The entire drive assembly "floats" within the chassis to isolate vibration while maintaining exceptional disc-reading precision.
External Clock Synchronization — The dedicated 10MHz BNC clock input allows the transport to synchronize with compatible master clocks for improved timing accuracy throughout the digital chain.

No. The VRDS-701T supports standard Audio CDs and CD-R/CD-RW discs recorded in CD-DA format.
