Magnetar UDP900 MKII Blu-Ray Player - Magnetar

Mastery in Motion & Sound
The UDP900MKII stands at the pinnacle of high-end playback. An uncompromising reference machine built for those who demand absolute precision in both audio and video. Nothing in its orbit comes close.

Every subsystem is engineered with intention: audiophile-grade analog architecture, cinephile-class video processing, custom dual power supplies, and a chassis meticulously designed to suppress interference, vibration, and electrical noise.

It’s a purpose-built instrument where advanced engineering and deliberate design converge to deliver breathtaking fidelity.

Call it a player, call it a portal. Either way, it’s a force. A place where flawless execution and unrestrained performance collide. Disc. XMOS. USB. LAN. Pick your source. It conquers them all.

The UDP900 MKII re-imagines what's possible
The UDP900 MKII sets a new standard for what a flagship player can deliver. It doesn’t just render a picture, it elevates the entire visual chain with a suite of targeted MKII upgrades.

A redesigned 6-layer gold-immersion PCB anchors the new platform, now strengthened with JST and Amphenol connectors for lower noise and tighter signal integrity. Internal wiring has also been upgraded with higher-grade copper conductors.

Combined with the upgraded electronic design and components, the MKII processing engine delivers higher performance than the original UDP900, extracting more detail from every source. Its refined upscaling architecture lifts older and lower-resolution content with greater clarity, depth, and pixel-level precision — transforming even standard 1080p into something extraordinary.

Whether it’s 480p or 4K UHD, MKV or MOV, H.264 or H.265, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, or SDR — the UDP900MKII turns every format into a visual showcase engineered for the modern reference theater.

Every detail emerges when nothing stands in the way of the sound.
The UDP900MKII elevates its audio platform with a refined ES9038PRO 7.1-channel DAC, delivering higher resolution, lower distortion, and greater dynamic precision than the previous generation.

Its upgraded analog stage features OPA1602 op-amps, a ultra-low-phase-noise TCXO, and a carefully tuned array of ELNA, NCC, WIMA, and SILMIC II capacitors for cleaner, more accurate signal reproduction.

Inside, copper-core wiring and JST/Amphenol connectors improve grounding, reduce interference, and preserve purity across the signal path, all powered by a dedicated high-power linear supply designed for low-noise stability.

High-resolution USB Audio support up to PCM 768 kHz and DSD512 completes the MKII upgrade, while balanced XLR and gold-plated RCA outputs deliver the final signal with unwavering fidelity. In the MKII, silence becomes part of the performance—revealing depth, space, and nuance with remarkable clarity.

In the UDP900MKII, silence isn’t empty. It’s the space where true fidelity comes alive.

A chassis engineered to protect performance
The UDP900 is carved from an all-aluminum alloy body with a reinforced dual-layer chassis, creating a rigid, resonance-controlled foundation. Key internal assemblies sit inside their own metal-shielded enclosures, dramatically reducing vibration, mechanical noise, and external magnetic interference. Every structural element serves one purpose: preserving signal purity for uncompromised high-resolution audio and video.

Power delivery is split for maximum stability. A custom high-power switching supply drives the digital mainboard with fast transient response, while a dedicated 60W low-noise toroidal transformer—featuring a two-stage filter design, imported magnetic core, oxygen-free copper windings, metal shielding, and full epoxy damping—feeds the analog audio stage with clean, consistent current. Premium Rubycon electrolytic capacitors reinforce both power paths for tighter control and lower noise.

Additional isolated metal chambers suppress vibration and improve thermal behavior, ensuring quiet operation and unwavering fidelity across every format.

This isn’t just heavy-duty construction— it’s a purpose-built platform designed to elevate performance.

Your content, mastered your way.
The UDP900MKII expands upon its predecessor with enhanced media handling and deeper format support, delivering a truly universal playback experience. Every major disc format is supported—including 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, BD-R/RE, DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD-Audio, AVCHD, SACD, CD, and CD-R/RW—ensuring that your entire physical library plays with MKII-level precision and stability.

Digital access has been elevated as well. The upgraded USB 3.0 architecture offers improved power delivery, stronger compatibility, and support for up to 16TB external storage. Network playback through DLNA, SMB, and NFS provides effortless access to your full ecosystem of media files, including MKV, AVI, MP4, WAV, FLAC, APE, DSD, M4A, MP3, OGG, AIFF, DSF, AAC, ALAC, and more.

Whether your content arrives through Disc, XMOS, USB, or LAN, the MKII platform processes it with greater stability, higher precision, and smoother performance—redefining what universal media mastery feels like.

The MKII doesn’t just support nearly every format. It perfects the way you experience them.
