Versatile combination audio component • Cassette deck, CD player, and USB recorder/player • Front-panel microphone input with echo effect for karaoke • ±10% cassette pitch control • USB MP3 recording from CD, cassette, and auxiliary inputs • Timer-ready playback and recording • Full-function dedicated remote control
The TEAC AD-850-SE Cassette Deck & CD Player integrates three essential audio formats into a single, rack-mountable home audio chassis. Engineered for both nostalgia and modern convenience, it combines an auto-reverse-capable cassette deck mechanism, a precision CD transport, and a versatile USB port capable of both MP3 playback and direct digital recording. Whether archiving cherished cassette tapes or CD collections directly to USB flash drives without a computer, dubbing between formats, or using the front-panel microphone input with variable echo for karaoke and vocal accompaniment, the AD-850-SE delivers reliable performance, intuitive tactile controls, and flexible connectivity.Yes. The TEAC AD-850-SE allows you to digitize your vintage cassette collection straight to a USB flash drive as 128 kbps MP3 files without needing a PC or audio editing software. Track numbers can be separated automatically or manually during recording.
The cassette section supports recording and playback on Normal (Type I) and Chrome/High-Bias (Type II) tapes. It also accommodates playback of Metal (Type IV) tapes (recording on Type IV tapes is not supported).
Plugging a dynamic microphone into the front-panel 1/4" jack blends your voice with the playback source (CD, cassette, or USB). You can adjust both the microphone volume level and the depth of the built-in vocal echo effect, making it ideal for home karaoke, announcements, or rehearsal.
The AD-850-SE includes a high-frequency noise filter/limiter circuit designed to reduce tape hiss on playback. However, it does not use licensed Dolby B/C circuitry, which has been universally discontinued across the tape deck manufacturing industry.
