The Ruark Audio RS1 Powered Subwoofer is a compact active low-frequency solution designed to add depth, weight, and realism to systems that need more bass without overwhelming the room. With a 100W Class D amplifier, a 6.5" long-throw driver, and a tuned passive radiator alignment, it is engineered to deliver clean, musical low end in a cabinet that remains easy to place in living spaces, desktop systems, and compact hi-fi setups.
System note: the RS1 is especially well suited to compact speaker systems that sound excellent through the mids and highs but benefit from greater low-frequency scale and presence.
Long-throw driver plus passive radiator — the RS1 uses a 165mm / 6.5" active bass driver paired with a matching passive radiator to increase low-frequency reach while preserving a cabinet size that remains practical for modern rooms.
100W nominal Class D amplification — efficient onboard power is designed to provide the grip and headroom needed for compact systems that require bass support without audible strain.
Practical tuning controls — adjustable crossover from 50Hz to 180Hz, variable level, and a 180-degree phase switch allow more precise matching to different speakers and placements.
Elegant enclosure design — with its clean proportions and finish options, the RS1 is designed to sit comfortably in shared living spaces rather than looking like a purely utilitarian bass box.

It is designed to work with audio systems that have a dedicated subwoofer output, including many active speakers, compact hi-fi systems, and AV receivers. It can also work with a volume-controlled pre-out connection.
The RS1 uses a mono RCA subwoofer input. Ruark includes an RCA subwoofer cable in the box for straightforward connection to compatible systems.
