Hybrid Tube / Class D Integrated Amplifier • 100 Watts per Channel into 8 Ohms • JJ Gold Pin 12AU7 Tubes • MM/MC Phono Stage • MOSFET Headphone Amplifier • Magnum Power-Supply & Signal-Path Upgrades • Metal Remote Included
The Rogue Audio Sphinx v3 Magnum Integrated Amplifier combines a pure tube mu-follower preamplifier with a powerful solid-state output stage to deliver the dimensionality and tonal richness of tubes with the control, efficiency and output capability of modern amplification. Rated at a minimum of 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, the Sphinx provides substantial drive for a wide range of bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers while maintaining the musical character that has made Rogue Audio's hybrid designs so popular.
The Magnum package takes the already capable Sphinx v3 further with an upgraded power supply, premium coupling capacitors, improvements to the MM/MC phono section, upgraded resistors and capacitors in critical circuit locations, improved speaker binding posts and JJ Gold Pin 12AU7 tubes. A metal remote is included, while tube-driven variable outputs, fixed outputs and a discrete MOSFET headphone amplifier make the Sphinx v3 Magnum a remarkably versatile centerpiece for a high-performance stereo system.
Hybrid Tube and Solid-State Architecture — The Rogue Audio Sphinx v3 Magnum Integrated Amplifier uses a pure tube mu-follower circuit for its preamplifier section and a high-power solid-state output stage. This combination is designed to preserve tube dimensionality and harmonic character while providing high damping factor, strong bass control and substantial output power.
Magnum Power-Supply and Signal-Path Upgrades — Rogue enhances the Sphinx v3 with upgraded power-supply components, premium coupling capacitors and carefully selected resistors and capacitors at critical points in the circuit. These modifications are intended to improve transient response, low-level detail and overall transparency.
JJ Gold Pin 12AU7 Tube Stage — The Magnum version substitutes premium JJ Gold Pin 12AU7 tubes for the standard tube complement. The pair operates within the active line-stage circuitry and also feeds the variable preamplifier outputs for subwoofer or external-amplifier applications.
375VA Toroidal Transformer and Linear Power Supply — A custom 375VA toroidal transformer feeds a high-storage linear power supply rather than a conventional switching supply. The design provides substantial reserve energy for dynamic bass passages while regulated stages help maintain low noise through the tube and signal circuits.
The Rogue Audio Sphinx v3 Magnum Integrated Amplifier adds power-supply upgrades, upgraded coupling capacitors, improvements to the phono stage, upgraded resistors and capacitors in key circuit locations, upgraded speaker binding posts, JJ Gold Pin 12AU7 tubes and an included metal remote control.
Yes. Its built-in phono stage provides user-selectable 44dB and 60dB gain settings, allowing it to accommodate moving-magnet cartridges and many moving-coil designs.
Yes. The Sphinx provides tube-driven variable outputs that track the main volume control and can be connected to a powered subwoofer or additional power amplifier. A separate fixed-level output is also provided for recording or other external equipment.
Yes. It features a discrete MOSFET-based headphone amplifier designed to drive a broad range of headphones through the front-panel 1/4-inch output.
Source components, turntable, loudspeakers, interconnect cables, speaker cables and headphones are sold separately.
