The REL Acoustics PL-2 Premium Wood Grille transforms the appearance of the Planar PL-2 Subwoofer with the warmth, texture and visual character of natural wood. Designed as an alternative to the standard cloth grille, it allows the slim-profile subwoofer to become an intentional part of the room’s interior design rather than simply blending into the background.
Engineered specifically for the dimensions and acoustic requirements of the Planar PL-2, the grille provides a precise, integrated appearance without compromising the subwoofer’s intended performance. Because genuine wood is a natural material, every grille features its own variations in grain pattern, tone and color, giving each installation a subtly unique character.
Planar-Specific Fit — The REL Acoustics PL-2 Premium Wood Grille is produced specifically for the larger Planar PL-2 enclosure. Its proportions complement the broad, shallow cabinet while maintaining the clean architectural appearance that defines the Planar series.
Natural Material Character — Real wood exhibits variations in grain direction, figuring, shading and color. These differences are an inherent part of the material rather than manufacturing defects, ensuring that no two grilles will appear completely identical.
Interior-Design Integration — While the standard cloth grille allows the PL-2 to recede visually, the Premium Wood Grille gives the subwoofer a more prominent furniture-inspired presence. It is particularly well suited to rooms with natural wood cabinetry, flooring, shelving or architectural details.
Acoustically Considered Construction — The grille is designed to complement the PL-2 without interfering with its ability to deliver deep, room-filling bass. This allows owners to personalize the subwoofer’s appearance while retaining the performance for which the Planar series was engineered.
No. This version is designed specifically for the larger Planar PL-2 Subwoofer. The Planar PL-1 requires its own appropriately sized Premium Wood Grille.
The REL Acoustics PL-2 Premium Wood Grille is designed to enhance the subwoofer’s appearance without compromising its intended acoustic performance.
No. Because the grille is made using natural wood material, variations in grain, texture and color should be expected. These natural differences give each grille its own individual appearance.
No. This product includes the Premium Wood Grille only. The REL Acoustics Planar PL-2 Subwoofer, Planar Cart and other accessories are sold separately.
