The REL Acoustics PL-1 Premium Wood Grille gives the ultra-slim Planar PL-1 Subwoofer a warmer, more furniture-inspired appearance. Designed as an alternative to the standard cloth grille, it introduces natural texture and visual depth while allowing the subwoofer to become a deliberate part of the room’s interior design.
Engineered specifically for the proportions and performance requirements of the Planar PL-1, the grille protects the front-mounted drivers without compromising the subwoofer’s intended output or musical character. Genuine wood naturally varies in grain, tone and color, giving each grille a subtly individual appearance.
PL-1-Specific Fit — The REL Acoustics PL-1 Premium Wood Grille is designed specifically for the dimensions and attachment system of the compact Planar PL-1. It is not a universal grille and should be ordered for the correct subwoofer model and cabinet finish.
Performance-Preserving Construction — The grille is engineered to protect the PL-1’s front-mounted drivers without altering the speed, articulation or low-frequency performance that defines the Planar series.
Natural Material Character — Variations in grain direction, figuring, shading and color are inherent characteristics of genuine wood. These differences are expected and ensure that each grille has its own individual appearance.
Architectural Integration — While the standard cloth grille helps the PL-1 blend quietly into the room, the wood grille gives it a more intentional presence. It coordinates especially well with wood furniture, cabinetry, shelving, flooring and architectural finishes.
No. The REL Acoustics PL-1 Premium Wood Grille is sized specifically for the smaller Planar PL-1. The Planar PL-2 requires its own dedicated Premium Wood Grille.
Yes. REL offers dedicated Planar PL-1 Black and Planar PL-1 White selections. Choose the option that corresponds with the finish of your subwoofer to ensure the correct appearance and compatibility.
No. REL designed the Premium Wood Grille to protect the drivers and enhance the PL-1’s appearance without compromising its intended acoustic performance.
No. Natural variations in wood grain, texture, shading and color are expected. These characteristics are not defects and make each grille visually unique.
REL Acoustics Planar PL-1 Subwoofer, standard cloth grille, Planar Cart, cables and installation services are not included and are sold separately.
