The Q Acoustics 3040c Compact Floorstanding Speaker (Pair) delivers the scale, presence and bass authority of a floorstanding loudspeaker in a slim enclosure designed for smaller and medium-sized rooms. Positioned between a bookshelf speaker and the larger 3050c tower, the 3040c provides a meaningful step up in output and low-frequency extension without overwhelming the room or requiring a large installation footprint.
Twin 120mm C³ Continuous Curved Cone mid/bass drivers combine with a mechanically isolated 22mm tweeter to create a balanced presentation with articulate vocals, controlled bass and smooth high-frequency integration. Internal P2P bracing and HPE pressure-equalizing tubes reduce cabinet resonance and standing-wave coloration, while recessed binding posts, magnetic grilles and solid aluminum stabilizers support clean installation in contemporary stereo and home theater systems.
C³ Continuous Curved Cone Mid/Bass Drivers — The Q Acoustics 3040c Compact Floorstanding Speaker (Pair) uses twin 120mm C³ drivers that combine the bass strength of a conventional straight-sided cone with the controlled midrange behavior of a flared profile. This geometry supports improved piston behavior, smoother frequency response and cleaner transitions through the vocal range.
Hermetically Sealed Floating Tweeter — The 22mm high-frequency driver is mechanically isolated from the front baffle and sealed from pressure generated by the mid/bass drivers. A vented inner chamber helps reduce distortion and supports a lower crossover point for more seamless integration.
P2P Point-to-Point Bracing — Q Acoustics reinforces specific areas of the enclosure that are most vulnerable to low-frequency vibration. This targeted bracing improves cabinet rigidity without adding unnecessary mass, helping produce a more focused stereo image and better-controlled soundstage.
HPE Helmholtz Pressure Equalizers — Internal HPE tubes reduce pressure imbalances and standing waves that can develop inside tall floorstanding cabinets. By minimizing this internal acoustic buildup, the 3040c maintains cleaner bass response and reduced midrange coloration.

Q Acoustics recommends an amplifier rated between 25 and 120 watts per channel. The amplifier should be stable with the speaker’s 6-ohm nominal and 4-ohm minimum impedance.
