Ultra-Compact Sealed Subwoofer • 8-Inch Glass-Fiber Driver • 600-Watt RMS Amplifier • 48-Bit DSP • App Control • 10-Band Parametric EQ • XLR and RCA Connectivity
The Perlisten R8S Ultra Compact Subwoofer brings advanced R-Series bass technology to rooms where performance matters but available space is limited. Its sealed acoustic-suspension enclosure houses a custom 215mm glass-fiber composite driver with an exceptional ±28mm of linear excursion, allowing the R8S to produce powerful, controlled low-frequency output from a cabinet measuring less than one foot in each dimension.
A 600-watt RMS amplifier works with a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor and 48-bit Texas Instruments DSP engine to manage output, protection and system tuning with exceptional speed. Three selectable low-frequency EQ profiles, ten-band parametric equalization, variable phase, adjustable low-pass filtering and iOS or Android app control make the R8S equally capable in premium two-channel systems, compact media rooms and immersive home theaters.
Purpose-Built Glass-Fiber Driver — PERLISTEN developed the R8S driver using a glass-fiber composite diaphragm, multiple aluminum shorting rings, a high-strength magnetic motor, multilayer Nomex spiders and lightweight aluminum voice-coil wire. Klippel laser measurement and nonlinear modeling help optimize performance throughout the driver’s operating range.
48-Bit DSP Processing — A Texas Instruments DSP platform with 48-bit data paths works alongside a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor using double-precision floating-point calculations. The system manages equalization, signal processing and protective functions in microseconds.
Three Low-Frequency EQ Profiles — THX, Boost for larger rooms and Cut for smaller rooms provide different bass-extension characteristics. The Boost profile reaches as low as 14Hz at the specified −10dB point.
Touchscreen and Mobile-App Interface — A top-mounted 2.4-inch color touchscreen provides direct access to setup functions, while the PERLISTEN app for iOS and Android enables detailed adjustment from the listening position.
Frequency extension depends on the selected EQ profile. The THX setting is rated to 20Hz at −6dB and 16Hz at −10dB, while the Boost setting extends to 16Hz at −6dB and 14Hz at −10dB.
Yes. The PERLISTEN subwoofer-control app is available for compatible iOS and Android devices. It provides access to input settings, turn-on behavior, crossover controls, phase and parametric equalization.
Yes. The R8S includes one balanced XLR input and one unbuffered balanced XLR output. It also provides one RCA input and one unbuffered RCA output.
No. PERLISTEN specifies the protective grille as an optional accessory, allowing the subwoofer to be used with its driver exposed or with the separately available grille installed.
The optional R8S grille, XLR cable, RCA subwoofer cable, trigger cable and additional subwoofers are sold separately.
