Key Features & Innovations
1-inch X-PAL™ Tweeter with PPA™ Lens — the Paradigm Premier 500C Center Channel Speaker in Espresso Grain features a pure-aluminum dome tweeter protected by a Perforated Phase-Aligning lens to block out-of-phase frequencies and expand high-frequency dispersion.
Dedicated 4-inch Midrange Driver with PPA™ Lens — positioning the midrange driver vertically below the tweeter avoids lobing artifacts and ensures consistent dialogue reproduction for off-axis listeners.
Dual 5.5-inch ART™ Surround Bass Drivers — over-molded Active Ridge Technology surrounds allow greater driver cone excursion for a 3dB boost in bass output and a 50% reduction in harmonic distortion.
Crafted in Canada Quality Engineering — completely designed, engineered, and manufactured at Paradigm's headquarters in Toronto, guaranteeing tight acoustic tolerances and robust cabinet construction.
Acoustically Fortified Espresso Grain Cabinet — dense MDF enclosure with internal bracing and a dark Espresso Grain finish reduces internal standing waves and mechanical cabinet vibration.
FAQ — Premier 500C (Espresso Grain)
Why is a 3-way design better for a center channel speaker?
The 3-way design of the Paradigm Premier 500C Center Channel Speaker in Espresso Grain places the tweeter and midrange driver in a vertical array between the woofers. This eliminates horizontal lobing and comb-filtering, ensuring clear dialogue across every seat in the home theater.
What size amplifier or AV receiver is recommended for the Premier 500C?
Paradigm recommends driving the Premier 500C with an amplifier or AV receiver rated between 15 and 120 Watts continuous power into 8 Ohms.
How does the PPA™ (Perforated Phase-Aligning) lens improve sound?
The PPA™ lens acts as a phase plug that blocks out-of-phase sound waves generated by the driver cone, resulting in smoother frequency response and enhanced off-axis detail.
Does the speaker include a removable front grille?
Yes, it comes with a low-profile, acoustically transparent black cloth magnetic grille that easily detaches to showcase the driver array and PPA™ lenses.
