The Meze ARTA Open-Back Headphones are flagship circumaural headphones created to deliver the scale, dimensionality and physical presence of a high-end loudspeaker system. Their open-back acoustic architecture and Rinaro-developed MZ5 HΩ planar magnetic drivers produce a spacious, three-dimensional presentation in which vocals and instruments occupy clearly defined positions beyond the immediate boundaries of the earcups.
ARTA introduces a 225-ohm, high-voltage and low-current planar magnetic design engineered for exceptional electrical linearity, low distortion and consistent performance with properly matched headphone amplifiers. Its premium metal, carbon-fiber and leather construction is paired with two interchangeable earpad designs, two high-quality cables and a fully serviceable architecture intended to provide reference-level performance for generations.
Rinaro MZ5 HΩ Isodynamic Hybrid Array — The Meze ARTA Open-Back Headphones use an ovoid 102mm × 73mm planar magnetic driver developed with Rinaro Isodynamics. Its high-impedance architecture operates at higher voltage and lower current than conventional low-impedance planar designs, promoting stable electrical behavior and consistent performance across the audible spectrum.
Parus ARTA Low-Mass Membrane — The Rinaro Parus ARTA diaphragm weighs only 0.10 gram while providing an active surface area of 4,650mm². Its composite construction is engineered to resist thermal drift during extended listening sessions, helping preserve timbral accuracy and transient response as operating temperature changes.
Dual-Shaped Voice-Coil Array — Two separate conductor patterns address different parts of the frequency range. A switchback coil reproduces lower frequencies from the upper portion of the driver, while a spiral coil directs midrange and high-frequency energy toward the ear canal for a more direct acoustic path.
Angled Open-Back Acoustic Blades — ARTA’s sculptural grille uses angled acoustic blades to protect the driver while minimizing rear-wave reflections and internal acoustic interference. The headphones are tuned, mechanically designed, quality-controlled and assembled at Meze Audio’s headquarters in Baia Mare, Romania.
Yes. The Meze ARTA Open-Back Headphones are designed for capable desktop amplification and are optimized for high-voltage headphone amplifiers. A properly matched desktop DAC and headphone-amplifier system is recommended for achieving their intended dynamic range and performance.
The Duo Angled pads combine perforated lambskin leather and Alcantara to produce a richer, more impactful presentation. The Slim Alcantara pads use two types of Alcantara with inner-chamber perforations for a more neutral balance and a smoother upper-frequency presentation.
Yes. ARTA includes one two-meter cable terminated with a 6.3mm single-ended plug and a second two-meter cable terminated with a balanced four-pin XLR connector. Both cables connect to the headphones through dual four-pin mini-XLR connectors.
No. ARTA uses a different magnetic earpad attachment system. Its earpads are not interchangeable with pads made for Meze Elite or Empyrean-series headphones.
DAC, headphone amplifier, audio source, replacement earpads and additional balanced or single-ended cables are sold separately.
