The Marantz CINEMA 70s SERIES 2 AV Receiver combines seven channels of discrete amplification, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X processing, 8K video connectivity and network music streaming in a chassis measuring only 4.3 inches high. Rated at 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, it can power traditional 5.1 and 7.1 systems as well as an immersive 5.1.2 configuration with two overhead or Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.
Developed as the successor to the original CINEMA 70s, the Series 2 model introduces an upgraded high-performance 32-bit, eight-channel DAC for improved clarity, resolution and dynamic range. It also adds Dirac Live upgradability, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready operation and AMD FreeSync compatibility while retaining Marantz Sound Master tuning, Audyssey MultEQ XT and HEOS multiroom streaming.
Upgraded High-Performance DAC — The Marantz CINEMA 70s SERIES 2 AV Receiver uses an upgraded 32-bit, eight-channel digital-to-analog converter. Carefully selected components and Sound Master tuning help preserve musical detail, dynamic expression and spatial information from HDMI, network, USB and digital-audio sources.
Discrete Seven-Channel Amplification — Each of the seven powered channels uses a discrete amplifier stage rather than a single integrated amplifier package. The design supports stable operation with compatible loudspeakers while maintaining the clarity, balance and musicality associated with Marantz home theater components.
Audyssey MultEQ XT and Dirac Live Upgradability — The included Audyssey microphone measures the connected speakers and listening space, then adjusts speaker distance, level, crossover and frequency response. A separately purchased Dirac Live license can enable an alternative room-correction platform for more advanced system tuning.
8K HDMI and Gaming Support — Three of the six HDMI inputs and the main HDMI output support up to 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz at bandwidths up to 40Gbps. Compatible gaming technologies include Variable Refresh Rate, Quick Frame Transport, Auto Low Latency Mode and AMD FreeSync on HDMI inputs four through six.

Yes. Its seven internal amplifier channels can power a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos system with five ear-level speakers, one or two subwoofers and two overhead or Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.
No. CINEMA 70s SERIES 2 is compatible with Dirac Live, but the required software license is sold separately. Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction and the required calibration microphone are included.
No. Three HDMI inputs support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz signals at up to 40Gbps. The other three inputs support conventional HDMI sources, including compatible 4K equipment.
Loudspeakers, subwoofers, HDMI cables, speaker cables, Ethernet cable, source components, Dirac Live license and professional installation services are sold separately.
