The Marantz CD 70 CD Player with High-Performance DAC and USB Playback combines decades of Marantz disc-player expertise with upgraded digital conversion, carefully selected components and a refined modern design. Created for listeners who continue to value the sound, permanence and physical experience of Compact Discs, the CD 70 delivers a clear, balanced and musically engaging presentation from standard CDs and compatible recordable discs.
A front-panel USB-A input expands the player beyond physical media by supporting high-resolution FLAC, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless and DSD files stored on a compatible USB memory device. Marantz HDAM-SA2 analog circuitry, separate rectifier circuits for analog and digital sections, a dedicated DAC master clock and a reinforced chassis work together to reduce noise and preserve musical detail, while analog, digital and headphone outputs make the CD 70 easy to integrate into a wide range of stereo systems.
High-Performance Digital Conversion — The Marantz CD 70 CD Player with High-Performance DAC and USB Playback uses an upgraded DAC supported by a dedicated master-clock design. Careful timing management helps reduce jitter and allows more low-level musical information to be recovered from both physical discs and compatible USB files.
Marantz HDAM-SA2 Analog Stage — Marantz Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules replace conventional chip-based output stages with discrete high-speed circuitry. The CD 70 uses HDAM-SA2 technology in its analog output and headphone sections to support fast transient response, wide bandwidth and the warm, detailed balance associated with Marantz components.
Separated Power-Supply Architecture — Separate rectifier circuits are used for the analog and digital sections to help prevent high-frequency digital activity from contaminating the analog audio path. A high-current power supply, carefully selected audio components and a symmetrical circuit layout further support low-noise performance.
Reinforced Modern Chassis — An additional metal chassis plate helps increase rigidity and reduce the influence of mechanical vibration on sensitive disc-reading and conversion circuits. The metal front panel and understated controls coordinate visually with current-generation Marantz stereo and home audio components.
No. The Marantz CD 70 CD Player with High-Performance DAC and USB Playback is designed for standard audio CDs, compatible CD-R/RW discs and supported music files. It does not play Super Audio CDs.
Yes. The front USB-A port supports compatible music files stored on a USB memory device, including FLAC, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless and DSD. It also supports commonly used compressed formats such as MP3 and WMA.
Yes. Optical and coaxial digital outputs allow the player to operate as a CD transport with a compatible external DAC, integrated amplifier, preamplifier or receiver. The digital output can also be disabled when using the CD 70’s internal DAC and analog outputs.
Yes. The front-panel headphone output uses a dedicated HDAM-SA2-based amplifier and provides selectable low, medium and high gain settings to accommodate a range of compatible headphones.
Amplifier, receiver, speakers, headphones, USB memory device, optical cable, coaxial digital cable and additional interconnects are sold separately.
