The M&K Sound VA500 Subwoofer Amplifier is purpose-built to power the M&K Sound IW28S in-wall subwoofer. Its high-efficiency Class D power stage delivers 500 watts of continuous output and up to 800 watts of peak power into a 4-ohm load, giving the IW28S the control and dynamic headroom required for deep movie effects and accurate music reproduction.
A compact one-rack-unit chassis allows the VA500 to fit neatly into a centralized equipment rack, while removable rack handles and supplied feet support standalone placement. Adjustable volume, continuously variable phase, a variable low-pass crossover and three room-adaptation settings make it easier to integrate the subwoofer with the room, main speakers and listening position.
High-Efficiency Class D Architecture — The switch-mode amplifier delivers substantial output while supporting cool operation and low standby power consumption.
Dynamic Headroom Control — A calibrated monitoring circuit helps prevent audible clipping while preserving the wide dynamic range of modern movie soundtracks and digital music.
Placement-Specific Equalization — The three-position EQ control adjusts the system’s low-frequency response for different wall and corner locations, helping produce more balanced bass in the room.
Expandable System Connectivity — Stereo RCA inputs accept line-level signals from a receiver or processor, while unaffected pass-through outputs make it possible to feed additional VA500 amplifiers in multi-subwoofer systems.
The VA500 is specifically designed to power one M&K Sound IW28S in-wall subwoofer. M&K Sound does not recommend using the standard VA500 with other speaker or subwoofer models.
No. Each IW28S presents a 4-ohm load and should be powered by its own VA500. The RCA pass-through outputs can feed the signal to additional VA500 amplifiers.
Yes. The VA500 is one standard rack unit high and includes removable rack handles for installation in a 19-inch equipment rack.
Yes. The amplifier includes an automatic signal-sensing mode that places it in standby when no signal is present and turns it on when an audio signal is detected.
