Heritage Series Premium Bookshelf Loudspeakers • 8" K-81-EP Woofer • K-702 HF Driver • K-703 Tractrix Horn with Mumps • 95dB Sensitivity • 200W Power Handling • Rear Tractrix Flare Port • Handcrafted in Hope, Arkansas
The Klipsch Rebellion Bookshelf Speaker (Pair) revives one of Paul W. Klipsch's earliest compact loudspeaker concepts as a modern Heritage Series design. Originally introduced as the H8 in 1958 and envisioned as a center speaker between two Klipschorns in a three-channel stereo system, Rebellion returns with contemporary Klipsch engineering while preserving the efficiency, low distortion and dynamic presentation at the heart of the Heritage philosophy.
Its two-way architecture combines an 8-inch K-81-EP woofer with a K-702 high-frequency driver mounted to a K-703 Tractrix horn featuring patented Mumps technology. With 95dB sensitivity, 200-watt power handling and a 115dB calculated maximum continuous output, Rebellion delivers impressive scale from its compact enclosure. Real-wood veneer, book-matched cabinetry and handcrafted Hope, Arkansas construction complete a loudspeaker designed for serious two-channel and Heritage home theater systems.
K-702 High-Frequency Driver & K-703 Horn — The Klipsch Rebellion Bookshelf Speaker (Pair) uses a K-702 HF driver mounted to the K-703 Tractrix horn. Klipsch patented Mumps technology optimizes horn geometry to improve coverage and maintain clear, low-distortion high-frequency reproduction throughout the listening area.
8-Inch K-81-EP Woofer — Rebellion's K-81-EP 8-inch woofer provides the low-frequency foundation of the two-way system. Combined with the vented enclosure, it helps the speaker achieve a rated 60Hz–20kHz ±3dB response and useful extension to 45Hz at -10dB.
Rear Tractrix Flare Port — A rear Tractrix flare port promotes efficient airflow through the vented enclosure while reducing turbulence and unwanted port noise. This allows the woofer and cabinet to deliver deeper, cleaner bass without compromising the Rebellion's compact dimensions.
Controlled Directivity — Klipsch specifies a 90-degree horizontal coverage pattern and 60-degree vertical coverage pattern through their respective rated frequency ranges. This controlled dispersion helps create focused imaging while maintaining useful coverage across the listening area.
Klipsch rates Rebellion at 95dB sensitivity with a 2.83V input measured at one meter in half-space anechoic conditions. This high sensitivity allows the speaker to achieve substantial listening levels without requiring exceptionally high amplifier power.
The Rebellion is rated for 200 watts of power handling using the AES continuous pink-noise standard with 6dB peaks. Klipsch specifies a calculated maximum continuous output of 115dB.
Klipsch specifically designed the Rebellion for use with its KS-24 speaker stands, which position the loudspeakers at an appropriate listening height. The KS-24 stands are sold separately.
Yes. Klipsch designed Rebellion for premium two-channel playback as well as integration into a Klipsch Heritage home theater system. Its original H8 predecessor was itself conceived as a center loudspeaker between two Klipschorns.
Klipsch KS-24 speaker stands, amplifier, source components, speaker cables, subwoofer and other system components are sold separately.
