Limited to 280 Pairs Worldwide • Fully Horn-Loaded 2-Way Design • External Active Crossover • K-5-K Sandcast Aluminum Horn • 4" Compression Driver • 15" Folded-Horn Woofer • Tigerwood Veneer • Brass Inlays • Hand-Built in Hope, Arkansas
The Klipsch Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition Speaker (Pair) celebrates 80 years of Klipsch by returning to the fundamental two-way, fully horn-loaded concept at the heart of Paul W. Klipsch's original 1946 patent. Rather than simply applying a commemorative finish to the current production Klipschorn, this limited model introduces a new high-frequency horn and compression driver system along with an external active crossover designed to extract greater control, dynamics and clarity from the iconic folded-horn architecture.
Each matched pair is handcrafted in Hope, Arkansas and finished in richly figured Tigerwood veneer with book-matched grain, real brass inlays outlining the folded-horn architecture and a striking sandcast aluminum K-5-K horn. Production is limited to only 280 pairs worldwide, and each pair includes a special 180-gram vinyl pressing featuring archival KlipschTape recordings from the 1950s, connecting this modern reference loudspeaker directly to the earliest years of high-fidelity Klipsch history.
K-5-K Sandcast Aluminum Horn — The Klipsch Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition Speaker (Pair) introduces the new K-5-K high-frequency horn with a 2-inch throat. Cast in aluminum for rigidity and controlled resonance, it is paired with a high-powered 4-inch compression driver whose motor structure draws from the Klipsch Jubilee.
Eight-Foot Folded Bass Horn — The low-frequency cabinet preserves one of the defining elements of every Klipschorn: an approximately eight-foot folded horn path that acoustically couples the 15-inch woofer to the room. This exceptionally efficient architecture allows the Klipschorn to generate substantial acoustic output with comparatively little amplifier power.
External Active Crossover — The 80th Anniversary edition replaces the conventional passive crossover approach with a dedicated active network. The crossover operates at 350Hz and allows the high-frequency and low-frequency sections to be controlled independently for improved integration, timing and system optimization.
Book-Matched Tigerwood & Brass Detailing — Each pair is built with sequentially matched Tigerwood veneer so the grain patterns mirror one another across the two cabinets. Real brass inlays trace the geometry of the folded bass horn, while the exposed sandcast aluminum horn creates a distinctive mid-century-inspired aesthetic.
Klipsch is limiting production to only 280 pairs worldwide, making the 80th Anniversary Klipschorn one of the most exclusive Heritage Series releases.
The anniversary model returns to a two-way fully horn-loaded architecture and introduces the new K-5-K sandcast aluminum high-frequency horn, a high-powered 4-inch compression driver and an external active crossover. It also receives exclusive Tigerwood veneer, brass inlays and limited-edition detailing.
The Klipschorn's folded bass-horn architecture is designed to work with room boundaries, and traditional corner placement remains the preferred configuration for maximum low-frequency coupling and efficiency. Proper placement and setup are strongly recommended for reference performance.
Each pair includes a limited-run 180-gram vinyl pressing featuring Paul W. Klipsch's original KlipschTape recordings from the 1950s, including archival material connected to Klipsch's earliest stereo demonstrations.
Power amplifiers, preamplifier, source components, speaker cables, interconnect cables, turntable and other system components are sold separately.
