Key Features & Innovations
Handbuilt British Reference Monitor Benchmark — the KEF Reference 1 Meta Bookshelf Speaker in High-Gloss Black/Grey (Pair) is hand-assembled in Maidstone, UK, with individually lab-matched drivers for exact acoustic alignment.
Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) — revolutionary maze-like absorption structure absorbs 99% of unwanted rearward tweeter distortion for transparent, effortless high frequencies.
True Three-Way Standmount Design — unlike typical two-way bookshelf speakers, a dedicated bass driver relieves the Uni-Q array of low-frequency duties, drastically reducing intermodulation distortion.
6.5-Inch Low-Frequency Aluminum Driver — high-excursion aluminum bass woofer with massive vented magnet assembly delivers tight, distortion-free low end down to 30Hz.
Constrained Layer Damped Enclosure — heavily braced composite cabinet with fine-tunable flexible port tubes optimizes low-frequency response to fit room boundary acoustics.
