FAQ — Kube 12 MIE
Can the KEF Kube 12 MIE be connected wirelessly?
Yes, the KEF Kube 12 MIE 12-Inch Front-Firing Active Subwoofer includes a dedicated expansion port designed for optional KW1 Wireless Subwoofer Adapter kits, allowing uncompressed audio transmission without long cable runs.
How does the Kube 12 MIE compare to the smaller Kube 10 MIE?
While sharing the same 300W Class D amplification and MIE DSP suite, the Kube 12 MIE features a larger 12-inch driver and cabinet volume, allowing it to move significantly more air for deeper bass extension (22Hz vs. 24Hz) and higher overall sound pressure levels in larger rooms.
How do the room placement EQ settings work?
A rear-panel toggle switch lets you choose between Free Standing, Wall/Cabinet, or Corner placement modes, modifying the MIE DSP equalization curves to prevent excessive boundary gain or boomy low-end response.
Is this subwoofer suitable for both music and movie setups?
Yes, the sealed cabinet design provides the quick speed and articulation required for two-channel stereo listening, while the 12-inch driver delivers the subterranean impact required for surround cinema channels.
