The JBL Synthesis SCL-10 2-way Dual 6.5-inch Built-In Loudspeaker (Each) provides reference-grade cinema dynamics and controlled acoustic performance in custom architectural installations. Built with an integrated rigid wooden backcan enclosure, this high-output built-in loudspeaker pairs dual 6.5-inch Advanced Aluminum Matrix cone woofers with JBL's patented D2415K dual 1.5-inch annular ring-diaphragm compression driver loaded onto a High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) horn. Engineered to offer precise acoustic loading independent of wall cavity dimensions, the SCL-10 serves as an uncompromised LCR or surround channel for flagship JBL Synthesis home theaters.
Key Features & Innovations
Integrated wooden backcan enclosure — the JBL Synthesis SCL-10 2-way Dual 6.5-inch Built-In Loudspeaker (Each) features a fully sealed, factory-tuned enclosure that eliminates acoustic variability caused by inconsistent wall cavities and minimizes sound leakage into adjacent rooms.
Dual 6.5-inch Advanced Aluminum Matrix Woofers — rigid aluminum cone woofers with cast frames deliver powerful low-frequency extension, high power handling, and exceptional mid-bass punch.
Patented D2415K Compression Driver — features dual 1.5-inch annular ring polymer diaphragms with powerful neodymium magnets, providing crystalline treble extension, high sensitivity, and ultra-low distortion.
High-Definition Imaging (HDI™) Horn — patented horn geometry directs sound energy smoothly across the listening zone, reducing boundary reflections and ensuring a cohesive, immersive soundstage.
Heavy-duty mounting clamps & magnetic grille — secure dog-leg mounting system simplifies installation while providing a rigid bond to wall framing, complemented by a paintable magnetic bezel-free steel grille.
FAQ — SCL-10
Is this speaker sold individually or as a pair?
This product listing is for a single (each) JBL Synthesis SCL-10 2-way Dual 6.5-inch Built-In Loudspeaker (Each). Please select the total quantity required for your multichannel LCR or surround configuration.
What is the advantage of a built-in speaker with an integrated backcan?
The integrated backcan provides a fixed acoustic air volume for predictable, optimized bass tuning regardless of wall stud depth or cavity insulation, while significantly reducing sound transmission through shared walls.
Can the SCL-10 be installed behind an acoustically transparent screen?
Yes. With its high SPL capability, linear frequency response, and controlled horn directivity, the SCL-10 is ideal for placement behind woven or perforated projection screens.
Is the front metal grille paintable?
Yes. The included magnetic bezel-free steel grille is fully paintable using standard spray paint to match your room's wall finish seamlessly.
