Compact Two-Way Invisible Loudspeaker • 6.5-Inch Woofer • Dedicated High-Frequency Transducer • FidelityGlass™ Acoustic Panel • Integrated Sealed Wooden Back Box • In-Wall or In-Ceiling Installation
The JBL Conceal C62 6.5-Inch 2-Element Invisible Loudspeaker (Each) brings high-quality architectural audio into rooms where visible speaker grilles, enclosures, and hardware would interfere with the design. Once professionally installed and finished, its paintable acoustic surface blends into the surrounding wall or ceiling, allowing the loudspeaker to deliver room-filling sound while remaining virtually invisible.
The compact two-way design combines a 6.5-inch low-frequency woofer with a dedicated high-frequency transducer driven by a neodymium magnet. Dividing the audible range between two specialized elements helps the C62 reproduce vocals, music, television sound, and ambient audio with greater clarity and bandwidth than a single-element invisible speaker.
The JBL Conceal C62 6.5-Inch 2-Element Invisible Loudspeaker (Each) is built around JBL's patented compression-molded baffle and proprietary FidelityGlass™ outer surface. The rigid structure supports controlled acoustic output, while the finishing surface can accept approved paint, wallpaper, veneer, and light decorative textures.
An integrated sealed wooden back box creates a predictable acoustic environment behind the speaker. This eliminates dependence on the size and construction of the surrounding stud bay while helping reduce sound leakage into adjacent rooms and spaces.
With an in-room frequency response extending from 45Hz to 20kHz, the C62 offers broad bandwidth from a compact concealed panel. Its 4-ohm impedance and recommended amplifier range of 50 to 100 watts RMS make it suitable for quality AV receivers, stereo amplifiers, distributed-audio amplifiers, and professionally designed custom-installation systems.
The C62 can be installed in a wall or ceiling for stereo listening, television audio, surround channels, height effects, and whole-home music. Its compact panel size also makes it easier to place in locations where the larger JBL Conceal models may not fit.
After the speaker is mounted, connected, and tested, its perimeter is finished using techniques similar to a drywall patch. When correctly taped, feathered, sanded, primed, and painted, the JBL Conceal C62 6.5-Inch 2-Element Invisible Loudspeaker (Each) disappears into the architecture without a visible grille or frame.
Two-Element Acoustic Architecture — The C62 divides the incoming audio signal between a dedicated low-frequency woofer and a separate high-frequency transducer. This allows each element to concentrate on the portion of the spectrum it is designed to reproduce.
6.5-Inch Low-Frequency Driver — The concealed 165mm woofer uses a 1-inch voice coil to reproduce bass and lower-midrange information behind the FidelityGlass™ surface. Its dedicated operating range helps preserve body and warmth in voices, instruments, and soundtrack effects.
Neodymium High-Frequency Transducer — The upper-frequency section uses a 1.18-inch voice-coil transducer with a neodymium magnet. Its compact, high-strength motor contributes to clear treble reproduction while fitting within the shallow architectural enclosure.
600Hz Crossover Network — The passive crossover divides the amplifier signal between the woofer and high-frequency element at 600Hz. This relatively low crossover point allows the dedicated upper-frequency transducer to reproduce a substantial portion of the vocal and detail range.
FidelityGlass™ Acoustic Surface — The proprietary outer panel functions as both the finishable room surface and the final acoustic radiator. It is designed to transfer energy efficiently while remaining compatible with approved finishing materials.
Patented Compression-Molded Baffle — The internal baffle provides a rigid support structure for the drivers and FidelityGlass™ panel. Controlling movement outside the intended radiating area helps improve consistency and minimize unwanted vibration.
Integrated Sealed Wooden Enclosure — The rear back box provides the woofer with a defined air volume and prevents the speaker from relying on an unpredictable open wall cavity. This improves consistency between different rooms and construction types.
Reduced Sound Transfer — The sealed back box helps contain rearward acoustic energy, making the C62 a stronger option for bedrooms, offices, shared walls, and other spaces where limiting sound transmission is important.
Independent Self-Resetting Protection — Separate protective devices monitor the low- and high-frequency sections. If excessive amplifier output creates an unsafe condition, the system can reduce or interrupt operation and automatically reset after cooling.
Broad Hemispherical Coverage — The distributed radiating surface spreads sound across a wide area. This helps maintain consistent tonal balance in spaces where listeners move around rather than remaining in one fixed seating position.
45Hz–20kHz In-Room Bandwidth — The woofer, high-frequency element, sealed back box, crossover, and acoustic panel work together to provide full-range performance suitable for many applications without a visible speaker.
Four-Ohm Nominal Impedance — The C62 should be paired with an amplifier or AV receiver rated for reliable operation with 4-ohm loudspeakers. Proper amplifier matching is especially important when several speakers are used in a multichannel or distributed-audio system.
Gold-Plated Spring-Loaded Binding Posts — Five-way terminals provide a secure connection and support commonly used speaker-wire termination methods. The spring-loaded design helps simplify connection before the panel is permanently finished.
Wall and Ceiling Compatibility — The C62 can be installed vertically or horizontally within standard framed drywall construction. Its compact dimensions provide flexibility for positioning around televisions, lighting, cabinetry, artwork, and architectural features.
Drywall Shim System — Included shims help align the speaker flange with surrounding wallboard of different thicknesses. Proper alignment is essential for creating a smooth transition between the acoustic panel and adjacent drywall.
Controlled Finish Thickness — Only the approved thickness of joint compound, primer, paint, or decorative finish should be applied over the FidelityGlass™ surface. Excess material can restrict panel movement and alter the acoustic performance.
Compatible Finishing Options — Approved treatments include water-based primer and paint, light orange-peel or knock-down texture, wallpaper, thin veneer, and level-five finishing when applied according to JBL's installation instructions.
New-Construction Installation — During new construction, the location can be framed and prepared before drywall installation. The speaker is secured to structural framing and aligned with the adjoining wallboard before finishing begins.
Retrofit Installation — The C62 can also be installed into an existing finished wall or ceiling. The opening is created between structural members, the wiring is routed, and the speaker is mounted and finished in a process similar to a reinforced drywall repair.
Mandatory Pre-Finish Testing — The speaker should be connected and tested before joint compound is applied. Confirming both low- and high-frequency operation at this stage allows wiring, mounting, or vibration issues to be corrected while the product remains accessible.
Installation-Dependent Performance — Invisible loudspeakers rely on proper framing, attachment, panel alignment, finishing depth, drying time, and sanding technique. Professional installation helps ensure that the final surface remains invisible without restricting acoustic output.
No. When professionally installed and finished according to JBL Conceal installation guidelines, the C62 becomes virtually invisible. After taping, finishing, sanding, priming, and painting, there is no visible speaker grille or frame.
Yes. The JBL Conceal C62 is engineered for both in-wall and in-ceiling applications, making it ideal for distributed audio, media rooms, dedicated home theaters, surround channels, and Dolby Atmos height speakers.
Yes. The FidelityGlass™ acoustic panel is designed to accept approved water-based paint, wallpaper, light textures, veneer, and other compatible decorative finishes without affecting the speaker's hidden appearance when installed correctly.
Yes. Unlike many architectural speakers, the C62 includes an integrated sealed wooden back box. This provides consistent acoustic performance while helping reduce sound transmission into adjacent rooms.
