Pure Class A transparency • Dual-mono power supply topology • 1,000VA toroidal transformer • Stereo / Bi-Amp / BTL modes
The Esoteric S-05XE Class A Stereo Power Amplifier is built for listeners who want the immediacy and tonal density that only Class A operation can deliver, paired with the scale and control Esoteric is known for. A newly designed, fully symmetrical balanced input buffer and a robust, high-capacity power supply help it stay quiet, stable, and dynamic across real-world speaker loads.
Rated at 30W + 30W into 8Ω (Class A) and 60W + 60W into 4Ω, it is designed to sound far larger than the numbers suggest—especially with high-resolution sources and revealing loudspeakers.
Fully symmetrical balanced input buffer — a newly designed balanced buffer stage focuses on lowering noise and maintaining signal purity from XLR sources.
Dual-mono power supply smoothing — independent smoothing circuits for each channel help improve separation, stability, and dynamic swing.
1,000VA toroidal-core transformer — high current delivery with low leakage flux supports responsiveness to sudden musical transients.
In a reference two-channel system, the Esoteric S-05XE Class A Stereo Power Amplifier is a compelling choice when you want Class A transparency but still need composure, grip, and scale with modern loudspeakers.
With Class A power, the first watts matter most. For efficient to moderately efficient speakers in typical rooms, 30W of Class A can sound remarkably authoritative. For larger rooms or lower-sensitivity speakers, consider BTL mode or speaker matching guidance.
BTL (bridged) mode combines channels to deliver higher output into 8Ω loads. It is useful when you want more headroom and are using a compatible speaker impedance.
Analog inputs include ES-Link Analog, RCA, and XLR, allowing easy integration with both Esoteric components and other high-end sources.
