The Audio-Technica ATH-WP900 Portable Over-Ear Wooden Headphones bring the craftsmanship and distinctive acoustic character of Audio-Technica's wooden headphone designs to a lightweight, travel-friendly format. Beautiful maple housings are finished with flame-maple veneers, giving every pair a naturally distinctive appearance while the rigid wood construction helps control unwanted resonance for clear, detailed reproduction.
Inside each housing, specially designed 53mm dynamic drivers employ powerful magnetic circuitry and DLC-coated diaphragms for wide-bandwidth performance extending from 5Hz to 50kHz. A lightweight 243-gram design, swiveling earcups and detachable A2DC cables make the ATH-WP900 practical for portable high-resolution listening, while the included 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm stereo cables provide direct compatibility with a broad range of premium portable players, DAC/headphone amplifiers and traditional audio components.
Japanese Maple Construction — The ATH-WP900's wooden housings use maple topped with striking flame-maple veneers. Beyond their appearance, the rigid wooden enclosures help suppress unwanted acoustic resonance within the closed-back earcups.
DLC-Coated 53mm Diaphragms — Diamond-like carbon is applied to the driver diaphragms to increase rigidity, supporting fast response and extended high-frequency reproduction while maintaining the dynamic character of a large 53mm driver.
Angled Driver Positioning — The drivers are positioned to provide an effective acoustic orientation toward the listener's ears, contributing to the ATH-WP900's detailed imaging and spacious presentation within a closed-back design.
A2DC Detachable Connectivity — Audio-Technica's A2DC connectors provide a secure detachable interface at each earcup. Two factory cables are supplied, including a 4.4mm five-pole balanced connection and a conventional 3.5mm stereo connection.
The ATH-WP900 uses a closed-back dynamic design. This provides greater acoustic isolation than an open-back headphone and makes the model better suited to portable listening and environments where reducing sound leakage is important.
Yes. Audio-Technica supplies a 1.2-meter cable terminated in a gold-plated 4.4mm five-pole balanced plug. A separate 1.2-meter cable with a standard gold-plated 3.5mm stereo mini-plug is also included.
With a 38-ohm impedance and high sensitivity, the ATH-WP900 is designed to work well with a variety of portable and home headphone sources. A high-quality DAC/headphone amplifier can still provide improved source quality, additional headroom and the option to use the included 4.4mm balanced cable.
No. Because real flame-maple veneer is used, variations in wood grain and appearance are natural. This gives individual pairs their own distinctive visual character.
