Open-Air Dynamic • 58mm Integrated Drivers • Tungsten-Coated Diaphragm • Core Mount Technology • Magnesium-Alloy Frame • A2DC Detachable Cable • 257g Lightweight Design
The Audio-Technica ATH-ADX3000 Open-Air Dynamic Headphones bring technologies developed for Audio-Technica’s flagship open-air models into a remarkably lightweight audiophile design. Their 58mm integrated driver units combine the diaphragm, voice coil, baffle and magnet into a single optimized structure, improving airflow while reducing unnecessary vibration and acoustic distortion.
A fully open-back housing allows air to move freely around the driver, supporting natural bass, clear midrange and extended high-frequency reproduction without relying on a sealed acoustic chamber. The magnesium-alloy frame keeps weight to approximately 257 grams, while replaceable velour earpads, detachable A2DC cabling and hand assembly in Machida, Tokyo make the ATH-ADX3000 equally suited to long-form critical listening and premium home headphone systems.
Core Mount Technology — Audio-Technica positions the integrated driver unit within the housing to optimize airflow around the diaphragm and reduce unnecessary acoustic distortion.
Pure-Iron Magnetic Circuit — The driver uses a pure-iron magnetic circuit chosen for efficient magnetic characteristics and precise control of diaphragm movement.
Honeycomb-Punched Open Housing — The housing structure is designed to control side ventilation while maintaining the unrestricted airflow characteristic of an open-back headphone.
Japanese Hand Assembly — Each ATH-ADX3000 is assembled from in-house components and tested at Audio-Technica’s facility in Machida, Tokyo.
Yes. The ATH-ADX3000 uses a fully open-air dynamic design. This provides a spacious, natural presentation but also means there is little acoustic isolation and sound will be audible outside the headphones.
The ATH-ADX3000 has a 50-ohm impedance and 98 dB/mW sensitivity. Many capable headphone outputs can drive them, but a high-quality dedicated DAC/headphone amplifier can provide additional headroom and source quality in a premium listening system.
Audio-Technica supplies a detachable 3.0-meter cable using A2DC connectors at the headphones and a gold-plated 6.3mm stereo plug at the source end.
Yes. Audio-Technica lists the AT-B1XA/3.0 balanced cable as a separately available accessory for compatible balanced headphone equipment.
Balanced headphone cable, DAC, headphone amplifier, audio source and replacement earpads are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
