The Audio-Technica AT-VMN95ML Replacement Stylus is the direct replacement stylus for the AT-VM95ML cartridge and an advanced upgrade option for compatible Audio-Technica VM95-series cartridge bodies. Its 2.2 × 0.12 mil nude Microlinear diamond is designed to trace fine groove modulations with greater precision than conventional conical or elliptical styli, helping reduce inner-groove distortion and retrieve additional high-frequency detail.
The stylus is mounted to an aluminum-pipe cantilever and installs directly onto compatible VM95-series cartridge bodies without requiring replacement of the complete cartridge. Because every VM95 cartridge shares the same electromagnetic engine-body design, listeners can move between compatible VM95 stylus profiles as their performance requirements or record collections change.
Microlinear Groove Geometry — The stylus profile closely approximates the shape of the cutting stylus used to create the master groove, providing a long vertical contact area combined with a very small contact radius along the groove modulation.
Nude Square-Shank Construction — The diamond itself forms the stylus shank rather than being bonded to a separate metal shank, reducing moving mass and helping improve responsiveness.
VM95 Modular Platform — Audio-Technica designed all VM95-series cartridge bodies around the same removable stylus interface, making it easy to move between conical, elliptical, Microlinear, Shibata and specialty options.
Simple Stylus Replacement — The stylus assembly can be removed from a compatible VM95 cartridge body and replaced without removing or realigning the entire cartridge when replacing like-for-like.
The AT-VMN95ML is the direct replacement stylus for the Audio-Technica AT-VM95ML cartridge. Because VM95-series cartridges share the same body design, it can also be installed on other compatible VM95 bodies as an upgrade.
When installed on the AT-VM95 cartridge body, Audio-Technica specifies a tracking-force range of 1.8 to 2.2 grams, with 2.0 grams as the standard setting.
Audio-Technica estimates approximately 1,000 hours of playback for a Microlinear VM95 stylus. Actual service life depends on record cleanliness, stylus care, tracking force and other operating conditions.
If you are replacing an AT-VMN95ML with another AT-VMN95ML on an already correctly aligned cartridge, the cartridge body normally remains in position and only the stylus assembly is changed. Alignment should still be checked if the cartridge itself has been moved or adjusted.
Cartridge body, headshell, turntable, alignment tools, tracking-force gauge and stylus-cleaning accessories are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
