The Audio-Technica AT-VM95ML/H Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit combines the AT-VM95ML dual moving magnet cartridge with Audio-Technica's black AT-HS6BK universal headshell in a convenient pre-mounted assembly. Its nude MicroLinear stylus uses an advanced 2.2 × 0.12 mil contact profile designed to trace fine groove modulation with exceptional accuracy, helping retrieve subtle musical detail, improve inner-groove performance and reduce tracing distortion.
The VM95 dual-magnet generator delivers strong channel separation and a 3.5 mV output suitable for conventional moving-magnet phono stages, while the lightweight aluminum cantilever provides responsive groove tracking. Because the cartridge is part of Audio-Technica's modular VM95 platform, compatible AT-VMN95 replacement styli can be installed without replacing the cartridge body, giving the AT-VM95ML/H excellent long-term flexibility for a wide range of turntable systems.
2.2 × 0.12 mil MicroLinear Diamond — The sophisticated line-contact profile maintains a very narrow horizontal contact radius while extending farther vertically along the groove wall, allowing the stylus to retrieve fine recorded information with excellent precision.
Nude Square-Shank Construction — The diamond is mounted directly to the cantilever rather than bonded to a separate metal shank, reducing moving mass and supporting responsive transient reproduction.
Aluminum-Pipe Cantilever — Lightweight aluminum construction efficiently transfers stylus movement to the cartridge generator while maintaining the rigidity required for accurate tracking.
AT-HS6BK Universal Headshell — The included headshell provides a universal half-inch cartridge mount and is designed for compatible four-pin removable-headshell tonearms, making cartridge swaps faster and more convenient.
The AT-VM95ML/H includes Audio-Technica's AT-VM95ML dual moving magnet cartridge with a nude MicroLinear stylus, pre-mounted to a black AT-HS6BK universal headshell.
Audio-Technica specifies a vertical tracking-force range of 1.8 to 2.2 grams, with 2.0 grams as the standard recommended setting.
Yes. The cartridge accepts compatible AT-VMN95 replacement styli. The direct replacement is the AT-VMN95ML, and other VM95 stylus profiles can also be fitted to the cartridge body when desired.
Audio-Technica specifies an approximate replacement-stylus life of 1,000 hours for the MicroLinear stylus under appropriate operating conditions. Actual service life can vary with record cleanliness, cartridge setup and stylus care.
Turntable, tonearm, phono preamplifier and cartridge-alignment tools are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
