The Audio-Technica AT-VM95EN/H Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit combines the AT-VM95EN dual moving magnet cartridge with Audio-Technica's AT-HS6BK headshell in one convenient, factory-assembled package. Its nude elliptical diamond stylus provides lower moving mass and more precise groove contact than a bonded elliptical design, helping reveal fine musical detail, clear stereo imaging and well-defined high-frequency information. The cartridge delivers a 20 Hz to 23 kHz frequency response, 22 dB channel separation at 1 kHz and 3.5 mV output.
Mounted and tested at Audio-Technica's factory in Fukui, Japan, the AT-VM95EN/H simplifies cartridge installation for compatible turntables by arriving already secured to the headshell. The VM95 platform also provides a flexible upgrade path, since the cartridge body accepts interchangeable VM95 Series styli, allowing listeners to change stylus profiles without replacing the complete cartridge.
0.3 × 0.7 mil Nude Elliptical Stylus — The nude elliptical diamond profile offers more precise contact with the groove walls than a basic conical or bonded elliptical stylus, helping retrieve subtle musical information while maintaining dependable tracking.
Aluminum Pipe Cantilever — A lightweight aluminum cantilever efficiently transfers stylus movement to the cartridge generator, contributing to responsive transient reproduction and controlled tracking.
VM Dual-Magnet Generator — Audio-Technica's moving-magnet architecture uses two magnets positioned to correspond with the two channels of a stereo record groove, supporting stable channel balance and separation.
Universal Headshell Configuration — The AT-HS6 headshell uses the common H-4 bayonet-style connection found on many removable-headshell tonearms, making the combo convenient for compatible turntables and for users who regularly swap cartridges.
The kit includes an AT-VM95EN dual moving magnet cartridge pre-mounted to an AT-HS6BK headshell, along with the specified installation accessories. Audio-Technica lists the total assembled cartridge-and-headshell weight at 15.5 grams.
Audio-Technica specifies a tracking-force range of 1.8 to 2.2 grams, with 2.0 grams as the standard recommended setting for the AT-VM95EN.
Yes. The AT-VM95EN uses the VM95 Series cartridge body, which accepts compatible VM95 replacement styli. This allows you to move to another stylus profile, including Microlinear or Shibata options, without replacing the cartridge body.
Audio-Technica lists approximately 300 hours of expected use for an elliptical VM95 stylus under appropriate operating conditions. Actual life can vary depending on record cleanliness, tracking setup and overall stylus care.
