The Audio-Technica AT-SB727 Sound Burger - Portable Bluetooth Turntable brings one of Audio-Technica’s most distinctive turntable designs into the modern wireless era. Its compact belt-drive system plays both 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records while Bluetooth 5.2 allows vinyl playback through compatible wireless speakers and headphones. A built-in rechargeable battery provides approximately 12 hours of operation, making Sound Burger equally at home in compact listening spaces or taken along for portable record playback.
Despite its unconventional shape, Sound Burger incorporates genuine turntable engineering, including a high-precision DC servo motor, die-cast aluminum-alloy platter with damping, spring-applied stylus pressure, and a replaceable diamond stylus. A built-in RIAA phono stage provides a 150mV line-level analog output, allowing the AT-SB727 to connect directly to active speakers, amplifiers and other compatible line-level audio equipment when wired listening is preferred.
Dynamic-Balance Tonearm System — To maintain reliable tracking in such a compact design, the Sound Burger applies stylus pressure through a spring-based dynamic-balance mechanism rather than relying solely on a traditional counterweight.
DC Servo Belt Drive — The high-precision DC motor drives the platter through a belt, providing stable rotation while helping isolate motor vibration from the record and stylus.
Damped Aluminum Platter — The die-cast aluminum-alloy platter incorporates damping to help provide stable record support and reduce unwanted vibration during playback.
Integrated Line-Level Output — A built-in RIAA phono preamplifier means the analog output is already at line level, allowing Sound Burger to connect directly to active speakers, AUX inputs and compatible amplifiers without requiring a separate phono preamp.
Yes. The AT-SB727 uses Bluetooth 5.2 and supports the A2DP profile for wireless audio transmission to compatible Bluetooth speakers, headphones and other receiving devices.
Audio-Technica specifies approximately 12 hours of operating time from the internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Charging time is also approximately 12 hours, although actual times vary with operating and charging conditions.
No. Sound Burger has a built-in RIAA phono preamplifier and outputs approximately 150mV at line level. It can therefore connect directly to compatible active speakers, AUX inputs and line-level amplifier inputs.
The factory replacement is the Audio-Technica ATN3600LC. Audio-Technica also offers the ATN3600LE elliptical stylus as an upgrade option for listeners seeking more precise groove tracing.
