Flagship Fully Manual Belt Drive • 30mm Acrylic Chassis • 20mm Acrylic Platter • Carbon-Fiber Tonearm • Optical Speed Monitoring • External Control Unit • AT-OC9XEN Moving-Coil Cartridge
The Audio-Technica AT-LPA2 Fully Manual Belt-Drive Turntable is Audio-Technica’s flagship turntable, designed to minimize resonance and preserve the purity of the cartridge signal. Its substantial 30mm high-density transparent acrylic chassis and 20mm acrylic platter provide a rigid, highly damped foundation, while a DC servo belt-drive motor and optical sensor continuously monitor platter rotation for precise 33-1/3 and 45 RPM playback.
A separate control and power-supply unit keeps operating electronics away from the sensitive analog components in the main turntable chassis. The specially developed 8.8-inch carbon-fiber tonearm provides adjustable VTA, azimuth, tracking force and string-type anti-skate, while the factory-installed AT-OC9XEN moving-coil cartridge uses a nude elliptical stylus and high-purity PCOCC coils for detailed, low-distortion playback.
Optically Monitored Belt Drive — An optical sensor beneath the spindle continually monitors platter rotation, helping the DC servo system maintain accurate speed at either 33-1/3 or 45 RPM.
AT-OC9XEN Moving-Coil Architecture — The supplied cartridge uses a low-mass moving-coil generator, high-purity PCOCC coils, an aluminum-pipe cantilever and nude elliptical stylus for refined groove tracking and strong channel separation.
Static-Balanced Carbon-Fiber Tonearm — The 223.6mm straight tonearm is lightweight and resistant to unwanted resonance, while two supplied counterweights broaden compatibility with alternative cartridges.
Heavy-Duty Isolation Feet — Height-adjustable feet are engineered specifically for the AT-LPA2 to help isolate the acrylic chassis from vibration transmitted through furniture and flooring.
The AT-LPA2 includes Audio-Technica’s AT-OC9XEN moving-coil cartridge mounted to a machined aluminum headshell. It uses a 0.3 × 0.7 mil nude elliptical stylus and has a specified output of 0.35mV.
No. The AT-LPA2 provides a direct phono-level output. Because the supplied AT-OC9XEN is a low-output moving-coil cartridge, it requires a compatible MC phono preamplifier, head amplifier or step-up transformer.
Yes. The supplied light counterweight supports cartridges from 6.1 to 9.2 grams excluding the headshell, while the heavy counterweight supports cartridges from 9.2 to 13.9 grams.
The control and power-supply electronics are housed outside the turntable body to reduce the possibility of electrical interference reaching the sensitive cartridge, tonearm wiring and analog signal path.
