The Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP Direct-Drive Professional DJ Turntable/Record Player in Black is built around a high-torque DC direct-drive motor engineered for fast startup, stable rotation and hands-on control. Its anti-resonant, mass-damped die-cast aluminum platter supports playback at 33-1/3, 45 and 78 RPM, while professional DJ features including forward/reverse operation, quartz speed lock and selectable pitch adjustment provide the flexibility required for mixing, cueing and performance applications.
A static-balanced S-shaped tonearm offers adjustable tracking force, dynamic anti-skate and tonearm-height adjustment for accurate cartridge setup. The turntable includes Audio-Technica's high-output AT-XP3 DJ cartridge with a 0.6 mil bonded conical stylus pre-mounted to an AT-HS6 universal headshell. Its dedicated phono-level output is intended for connection to a mixer, receiver, integrated amplifier or external phono stage equipped with a compatible phono input.
High-Torque DC Direct-Drive System — The motor couples directly to the platter rather than relying on a belt, providing fast response, strong torque and speed stability suited to professional DJ use.
Mass-Damped Die-Cast Aluminum Platter — The professional platter combines substantial mass with anti-resonance construction to promote stable, on-axis rotation and reduce vibration-related coloration.
Adjustable S-Shaped Tonearm — The static-balanced 230.5 mm tonearm provides adjustable height, tracking force and dynamic anti-skate, along with a hydraulically damped lift mechanism and detachable headshell.
DJ-Focused Speed and Cueing Controls — A stroboscopic platter, speed indicator, quartz lock, variable pitch slider, forward/reverse control and popup stylus target light provide precise visual and physical control during performance.
