The Audio-Technica AT-HS6 Universal Headshell provides a lightweight, straightforward solution for installing compatible 4-pin phono cartridges on turntables that use a standard removable headshell connection. Its die-cast aluminum body weighs just 9 grams including the supplied lead wires, helping keep unnecessary tonearm mass and vibration to a minimum while providing a rigid platform for cartridge mounting.
An integrated finger lift makes manual cueing and stylus placement easier, while the color-coded lead wires simplify cartridge installation and channel identification. The AT-HS6 accepts standard ½-inch-mount cartridges and includes multiple mounting screws, nuts and washers for installation. Black and silver finishes allow it to complement a wide variety of Audio-Technica and other compatible turntables.
Die-Cast Aluminum Construction — The AT-HS6 uses lightweight aluminum to provide rigidity without unnecessarily increasing effective tonearm mass, while also helping minimize unwanted vibration.
Standard ½-Inch Cartridge Interface — The headshell is designed for conventional 4-pin phono cartridges that use the standard ½-inch mounting arrangement, providing broad cartridge-selection flexibility.
Color-Coded Signal Leads — Preinstalled cartridge leads simplify hookup between the cartridge output pins and the headshell connection while reducing setup confusion during cartridge changes.
Removable Headshell Convenience — On compatible tonearms, keeping multiple cartridges mounted on separate headshells can make it faster to change cartridge types without repeatedly removing mounting hardware from the cartridge body.
The AT-HS6 is designed for compatible 4-pin phono cartridges using the standard ½-inch mounting configuration. Cartridge mass, dimensions and tonearm setup requirements should also be checked against the specifications of the turntable being used.
Audio-Technica specifies a weight of 9.0 grams, or approximately 0.3 ounces, including the installed lead wires.
Yes. Audio-Technica supplies two 16mm mounting screws, two 10mm mounting screws, two nuts and two plastic washers.
The AT-HS6 is available in black as model AT-HS6BK and silver as model AT-HS6SV.
