FAQ — Audeze LCD-1 Headphones
Do the Audeze LCD-1 Headphones require a dedicated headphone amplifier?
No. With a low impedance of 16 Ohms and high efficiency, the Audeze LCD-1 Headphones can easily be driven directly by laptops, audio interfaces, smartphones, or dedicated headphone amplifiers without sacrificing volume or dynamic punch.
Are the LCD-1 headphones suitable for recording vocals or live tracking?
Because they feature an open-back design, sound will naturally bleed from the ear cups. They are ideal for mixing, mastering, editing, and critical listening, but closed-back headphones are recommended for vocal or instrument microphone tracking.
How do the LCD-1 headphones differ from larger LCD series models like the LCD-2?
The LCD-1 is designed for portability and lightweight studio use, featuring a foldable frame weighing just 250g (compared to 500g+ on the LCD-2) and 90mm drivers optimized for easy driving without heavy desktop amplification.
Does the cable have specific left and right channel orientations?
The included 3.5mm dual-connector cable automatically detects and assigns the left and right audio channels regardless of which ear cup you plug the cable into.
