The Audeze LCD-1 Headphones bring core technologies from Audeze’s larger LCD models into a compact, lightweight and foldable open-back design. Their 90mm planar magnetic drivers use single-sided Fluxor magnet arrays, ultra-thin Uniforce diaphragms and Fazor waveguides to deliver low distortion, wide frequency extension and precise stereo imaging for audiophile listening, mixing and monitoring.
At only 250 grams, the LCD-1 was designed to be significantly more portable than traditional full-size planar magnetic headphones. Memory-foam ear pads and headband cushioning support long listening sessions, while the folding earcups and included travel case make the LCD-1 practical for engineers, musicians and enthusiasts who want reference-oriented planar performance both at home and away.
Single-Sided Fluxor Magnet Array — Audeze’s Fluxor magnetic structure concentrates magnetic force across the diaphragm while helping reduce weight compared with heavier double-sided planar designs.
Ultra-Thin Uniforce Diaphragm — The conductive voice-coil pattern is engineered to distribute force evenly across the diaphragm, helping minimize breakup and distortion during complex musical passages.
Fazor Phase Management — Fazor waveguides help manage acoustic wave propagation from the planar driver, supporting clearer imaging and smoother frequency response.
Reversible Cable Architecture — The supplied dual-entry cable uses reversible headphone connectors, allowing correct left/right channel routing regardless of which connector is plugged into either earcup.
Yes. The LCD-1 uses an open-back, over-ear circumaural design. This supports a more spacious and natural presentation, but it also means the headphones provide little isolation and allow sound to leak in and out.
The LCD-1 has a low 16-ohm impedance and 99dB/1mW sensitivity, making it easier to drive than many larger planar magnetic headphones. A quality headphone amplifier can still provide additional headroom and control.
