12-Channel / 7.1.4 Processing • 7 Channels of Class AB Amplification • 80W/Ch into 8Ω • Dual ESS 9026PRO DACs • Dolby Atmos • DTS:X • AURO-3D • Dirac Ready • eARC • Roon Ready
The Arcam AVR5 Class AB AV Receiver brings ARCAM's high-fidelity amplifier engineering to immersive home theater in an accessible seven-channel design. Seven channels of Class AB amplification are paired with native twelve-channel processing, allowing the AVR5 to directly power conventional surround systems while supporting layouts up to 7.1.4 when additional external amplification is added.
Dual ESS 9026PRO audiophile DACs provide high-quality multichannel conversion, while Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and AURO-3D support deliver immersive movie playback. Integrated AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth aptX HD, TIDAL Connect, MQA and Roon Ready functionality make the AVR5 equally capable with music. The receiver is also prepared for Dirac Live room correction, allowing owners to add sophisticated acoustic optimization through a separately purchased Dirac license.
ARCAM Class AB Amplification — The AVR5's seven-channel power stage is based on ARCAM's stereo amplifier engineering, supported by an oversized power supply and transformer designed for low noise and substantial dynamic capability.
Dual ESS 9026PRO Conversion — ARCAM uses two ESS 9026PRO DACs with dedicated reference voltage regulation to achieve low-noise, high-resolution multichannel conversion for movies and music.
Upgradeable System Architecture — Twelve-channel preamp processing means the AVR5 can grow beyond its seven internal amplifier channels. Compatible external amplifiers can be added for height channels and larger immersive layouts.
Custom-Installation Control — Wi-Fi, Ethernet, RS-232 and IR connectivity provide flexible control options for stand-alone systems and professionally integrated home theaters.
The AVR5 contains seven built-in Class AB amplifier channels. Its twelve-channel processing can support immersive configurations up to 7.1.4, but layouts requiring more than seven passive speaker channels need compatible external amplification.
ARCAM rates the AVR5 at 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 100 watts per channel into 4 ohms with two channels driven from 20Hz–20kHz at less than 0.02% THD. With seven channels driven at 1kHz, output is rated at 60 watts into 8 ohms and 85 watts into 4 ohms.
No. The AVR5 is Dirac Live Ready, but activation requires purchasing a compatible Dirac Live license separately. This differs from certain higher-level ARCAM receivers that included Dirac Live with the product.
No. The AVR5 was originally supplied with HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 hardware supporting 4K UHD. ARCAM later offered an HDMI 2.1 hardware upgrade for compatible units. HDMI capability should therefore be confirmed for the specific AVR5 being sold rather than assuming every unit has HDMI 2.1.
