The Anthem STR Stereo Pre-Amplifier with Built-in DAC and Room Correction combines a high-resolution analog preamplifier, sophisticated digital processing, premium digital-to-analog conversion and Anthem Room Correction in a single reference-level two-channel control center. Designed for audiophiles who want the transparency of a dedicated stereo preamplifier without giving up modern system optimization, the STR accommodates analog, balanced, digital, computer-audio and vinyl sources with extensive configuration flexibility.
ARC Genesis can optimize the main loudspeakers and one or two subwoofers for the listening room, while Anthem's advanced bass management supports mono or stereo subwoofer configurations. Separate MM and MC phono inputs, asynchronous USB audio, AES/EBU, coaxial and optical digital connectivity, Home Theater Bypass and selectable Analog Direct operation make the STR equally comfortable in a purist two-channel system or a stereo setup integrated with a larger home theater.
32-Bit/192kHz Internal Processing — When digital processing is enabled, analog sources are converted at high resolution so ARC Genesis, bass management, speaker-distance compensation, tone controls and other DSP functions can be applied.
Asynchronous Sample-Rate Conversion — Anthem reclocks incoming digital data and processes lower-resolution sources through a high-resolution conversion path designed to reduce source jitter and optimize DAC performance.
ARC Genesis with Four Profiles — Up to four different ARC configurations can be stored, allowing separate correction profiles for different listening positions, speaker configurations or subwoofer arrangements.
Adjustable Phono Equalization — Beyond standard RIAA equalization, the STR offers selectable and user-adjustable phono curves for older records produced before RIAA equalization became the industry standard.
No. The STR is a dedicated stereo preamplifier and requires an external power amplifier such as the Anthem STR Power Amplifier, Statement P2 or another compatible stereo amplifier.
Yes. The STR includes separate moving-magnet and moving-coil phono inputs. The MM stage is also suitable for compatible high-output moving-coil cartridges.
Yes. Setting Convert Analog to No bypasses the A/D conversion and digital processing path, leaving the analog source in a direct signal path with level control.
Yes. Home Theater Bypass allows a compatible surround processor to share the main left/right amplification and subwoofer system with the STR-based stereo setup.
External power amplifier, turntable, digital source, streaming device, analog/digital interconnects, speaker cables, loudspeakers and powered subwoofers are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
