Flagship 5-Channel Multi-Mono Power Amplifier • 325W/Ch into 8Ω • 500W/Ch into 4Ω • 675W/Ch into 2Ω • True-Balanced XLR Inputs • 14 Bipolar Output Devices Per Channel • Made in Canada
The Anthem P5 5-Channel Class-AB Power Amplifier is Anthem's flagship multi-channel Statement-series amplifier, designed for reference-level home theaters and music systems that demand exceptional current delivery, channel isolation and dynamic headroom. Rated at 325 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 500 watts into 4 ohms and an extraordinary 675 watts into 2 ohms, the P5 is engineered to maintain authoritative control even with difficult loudspeaker loads.
Rather than relying on a conventional shared multichannel power architecture, the P5 is essentially five independent monoblock amplifiers housed within a single massive chassis. Each channel has its own circuit board, heatsink and dedicated power-supply architecture, while fourteen high-current bipolar output devices per channel provide the reserves needed for demanding cinematic peaks and large-scale musical dynamics.
Independent Multi-Mono Amplifier Channels — Every P5 channel is constructed as a largely autonomous amplifier with its own glass-epoxy circuit board, heatsink and independent power supply, minimizing interaction between channels.
Dedicated Power-Supply Architecture — Each channel uses separate power supplies fed by dedicated transformer windings, allowing the amplifier to maintain stable output even when multiple channels are simultaneously handling demanding program material.
Proprietary Input Stage — Eight hand-matched low-noise bipolar devices operate in Anthem's cascoded feedback input topology to provide wide bandwidth, extremely low distortion and precise thermal tracking.
Direct-Connected No-Fuse Design — Anthem connects the output stage directly to the power-supply capacitor bank without conventional signal-path fuses, reducing output impedance and maximizing instantaneous current availability.
The P5 delivers 325 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms, 500 watts per channel into 4 ohms and 675 watts per channel into 2 ohms across its five-channel amplifier architecture.
Yes. Each of the five channels has its own amplifier circuit board, heatsink and dedicated power-supply architecture to maximize channel isolation and power delivery.
Yes. Each channel provides a true-balanced XLR input as well as an unbalanced RCA input. A rear-panel selector also provides an attenuated XLR option for system matching.
The P5 is especially well suited to Anthem's AVM 70 8K and flagship AVM 90 processors, providing powerful external amplification for the front stage, surrounds or other critical theater channels.
A/V processor or preamplifier, XLR/RCA interconnects, speaker cables, loudspeakers and dedicated AC circuit installation are sold separately unless otherwise specified. The P5 uses two AC power connections, so electrical requirements should be considered when planning the installation.
