The Anthem MRX 540 8K 5.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver with Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth, and Apple AirPlay 2 brings Anthem's renowned surround processing, amplification and room correction to compact and mid-sized premium home theaters. Five onboard amplifier channels deliver 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, while 7.2-channel preamplifier processing provides an upgrade path for adding external amplification and expanding beyond the receiver's default 5.1 speaker configuration.
Its HDMI 2.1 platform provides seven dedicated 8K inputs with support for compatible 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video, VRR, ALLM and eARC. ARC Genesis room correction, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, 32-bit/768kHz DACs and built-in AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect and Bluetooth streaming make the MRX 540 8K a versatile foundation for movies, gaming and high-quality music playback.
Anthem Room Correction ARC Genesis — ARC Genesis uses a calibrated microphone and advanced correction algorithms to address room-induced acoustic problems while preserving the natural character of the loudspeakers.
32-Bit/768kHz Digital Conversion — High-resolution DACs provide precise digital-to-analog conversion for movie soundtracks, streaming audio and connected digital sources.
Object-Based Immersive Audio — Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced processing provide advanced spatial audio reproduction, while external amplification allows the MRX 540 to expand beyond its five internally powered channels.
Advanced HDMI 2.1 Platform — Support for 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency Mode provides compatibility with modern video and gaming sources.
It has five built-in amplifier channels but provides 7.2-channel preamplifier processing. Anthem configures it for 5.1 speakers by default, while external amplification can be added for back or height channels.
Yes. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are supported. External amplification is required when adding height or rear channels beyond the five speakers powered internally.
Yes. The MRX 540 supports Apple AirPlay wireless streaming along with Bluetooth, Google Cast and Spotify Connect.
No. Anthem identifies the MRX 540's two subwoofer connections as parallel outputs. For systems requiring more advanced independently managed multi-subwoofer architecture, models higher in Anthem's lineup provide additional flexibility.
