The Anthem MDX-8 Distribution Solution Amplifier 8 Channels / Up to 4 Zones combines eight channels of efficient amplification with sophisticated source routing, bass management and Anthem Room Correction ARC Genesis. Designed for professionally installed whole-home audio systems, the MDX-8 can independently power as many as four stereo zones while delivering 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms.
Each zone can be individually configured for its room, speakers and listening requirements, including source selection, level control, tone adjustment, subwoofer integration and ARC Genesis calibration. Four stereo analog inputs and an optical digital input can be routed through the MDX-8's audio matrix, while Ethernet, IP control, RS-232 and 12-volt triggering make the amplifier well suited to centralized smart-home and custom-installation systems.
Ultra-Class-D Amplification — Anthem's high-efficiency amplification architecture provides strong output from a compact 2U chassis while minimizing the heat generated in centralized equipment racks.
Zone-Independent ARC Genesis — Every listening zone can be measured and corrected for its unique acoustic environment, speaker placement and bass response using Anthem's advanced ARC Genesis platform.
Dedicated Subwoofer Management — Four RCA subwoofer outputs allow bass management and room correction to be configured independently for each zone. The system can also use bridged amplifier channels for compatible high-level subwoofer applications.
Advanced Load Monitoring — Anthem's proprietary ALM™ technology protects the amplifier under demanding operating conditions while maintaining reliable performance across the system's eight channels.
The MDX-8 provides eight amplifier channels and can be configured for up to four independent stereo zones.
The MDX-8 delivers 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Compatible channel pairs can also be bridged for 200 watts into an 8-ohm load.
Yes. ARC Genesis is supported independently for every zone, allowing each room to be acoustically measured and optimized according to its own speakers, placement and listening environment.
The MDX-8 provides eight amplifier channels for up to four zones, while the MDX-16 expands the system to sixteen channels and up to eight zones. The MDX-16 also provides additional analog and digital source connections for larger installations.
Audio sources, analog and digital interconnects, Ethernet cable, speaker wire, loudspeakers, powered subwoofers and automation/control equipment are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
