The Anthem MDX-16 Multi-Zone Distribution Power Amplifier combines sixteen channels of amplification, sophisticated source matrixing and Anthem Room Correction ARC Genesis in a powerful centralized solution for whole-home audio. Supporting up to eight independent stereo zones, the MDX-16 delivers 60 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms while allowing compatible channel pairs to be bridged for substantially higher output.
Unlike conventional distribution amplifiers that simply provide power, the MDX-16 incorporates a flexible analog and digital audio matrix that can route compatible sources to virtually any zone. Independent zone configuration, bass management, dedicated subwoofer outputs, ARC Genesis correction and comprehensive IP/RS-232 control make it especially well suited to professionally integrated homes where different rooms require their own sources, volume levels and acoustic optimization.
Ultra-Class-D Amplification — Anthem's efficient amplifier architecture provides consistent power across sixteen channels while keeping heat and power requirements manageable for centralized rack installations.
Zone-Independent ARC Genesis — Each zone can be individually measured and optimized using Anthem Room Correction, helping improve tonal balance and bass integration throughout different rooms of the home.
Advanced Audio Matrix — Analog RCA, coaxial digital and optical digital sources can be assigned to different zones independently, allowing multiple listeners to enjoy different sources simultaneously.
Advanced Load Monitoring — Anthem's proprietary ALM™ protection continuously supervises amplifier operating conditions to provide reliable performance under demanding loudspeaker loads.
The MDX-16 provides sixteen amplifier channels and supports up to eight independent stereo zones.
Yes. Unlike the MDX-12, the MDX-16 includes an analog and digital audio matrix that allows compatible RCA, coaxial and optical sources to be routed to different zones.
Yes. Anthem Room Correction can be configured independently for each zone, allowing every room to receive correction appropriate to its speakers, placement and acoustic environment.
Yes. The MDX platform supports zone-specific bass management and dedicated subwoofer outputs. Compatible amplifier channels can also be bridged when additional speaker-level power is required.
Audio sources, analog and digital interconnects, Ethernet cable, speaker wire, loudspeakers, powered subwoofers and automation/control equipment are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
