The Anthem MCA 225 Gen 2 Stereo Power Amplifier delivers the high-current performance, low noise and dynamic control needed for serious two-channel systems and premium home theater installations. Rated at 225 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 400 watts into 4 ohms and 600 watts into 2 ohms, the MCA 225 Gen 2 is capable of driving demanding loudspeakers with exceptional authority while preserving fine musical detail.
Anthem's Gen 2 redesign uses a more direct internal signal path, a custom low-flux toroidal transformer, improved input devices and eight bipolar output transistors per channel. Advanced Load Monitoring continuously supervises temperature, current and voltage, while balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs make the MCA 225 Gen 2 an ideal partner for dedicated stereo preamplifiers, Anthem AVM processors and compatible MRX receivers.
Advanced Load Monitoring Technology — ALM™ continuously monitors temperature, current and voltage. If an abnormal condition occurs, the affected channel can shut down for protection while normal operation resumes automatically once conditions return to a safe range.
Low-Flux Toroidal Power Supply — A custom high-power toroidal transformer minimizes stray magnetic-field radiation while providing substantial rail voltage and current reserves for demanding loudspeaker loads.
Eight Bipolar Output Devices Per Channel — Multiple high-current transistors distribute electrical and thermal loads across more devices, helping improve reliability and effortless delivery into lower impedances.
Direct Gen 2 Signal Path — Reduced internal cabling and redesigned circuitry create a shorter, cleaner path through the amplifier to improve transparency, bandwidth and noise performance.

Yes. A compatible Anthem MRX receiver can use its preamp outputs to feed the MCA 225 Gen 2, making it a useful upgrade for powering the front left and right channels with dedicated external amplification.
Preamplifier or A/V processor, balanced/unbalanced interconnects, speaker cable and loudspeakers are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
