The Advance Paris X-D500 CD Transport (Requires External DAC) is designed for listeners who want a dedicated disc transport without paying for a second digital-to-analog conversion stage they do not need. Rather than providing conventional analog outputs, the X-D500 concentrates on reading the digital information from a compact disc and sending that signal to an external DAC, digital preamplifier or integrated amplifier equipped with a compatible digital input.
A rigid chassis, dual toroidal transformers and separately managed internal power supplies support the transport mechanism, laser-control circuitry and digital processing sections. Selectable upsampling can convert the original 16-bit/44.1kHz CD signal to 24-bit/96kHz or 24-bit/192kHz, while AES/EBU, coaxial and optical outputs provide flexible connection options for high-performance external conversion.
Transport-Only Signal Architecture — The X-D500 omits analog conversion entirely, allowing the connected DAC or amplifier to handle digital-to-analog conversion.
Dual Linear Power Supplies — Two toroidal transformers rated at 15VA and 25VA provide separated power for the different operating sections inside the transport.
24-Bit Upsampling — The original Red Book CD signal can be output natively or processed to 24-bit/96kHz or 24-bit/192kHz for use with compatible downstream digital components.
Professional & Consumer Digital Outputs — A 110-ohm AES/EBU XLR connection joins 75-ohm coaxial RCA and optical TOSLINK outputs for flexible integration into both conventional and high-end systems.

You will need a stereo system with an external DAC, preamplifier, integrated amplifier or receiver equipped with AES/EBU, coaxial or optical digital input capability.
External DAC, digital interconnect, amplifier, speaker cables and loudspeakers are sold separately unless otherwise specified. A compatible external digital-to-analog converter or amplifier with digital inputs is required for playback.
