High-Current Stereo Power Amplifier • 160W/Ch into 8Ω • 240W/Ch into 4Ω • 700VA Toroidal Transformer • High-Bias Class A/AB • Balanced XLR & RCA Inputs
The Advance Paris X-A160 EVO Stereo Power Amplifier is designed for high-performance separates systems that need strong current delivery, dynamic control and a refined presentation. Rated at 160 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 240 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, the X-A160 EVO provides the power required to drive a wide range of premium bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers.
Its substantial 700VA toroidal transformer works with very high-current NJW0281G and NJW0302G output transistors derived from Advance Paris’s higher-powered designs. A selectable High-Bias mode allows the amplifier to operate its first watts in Class A before automatically transitioning to Class AB as output demand increases, while balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs make integration with high-quality preamplifiers straightforward.
MAA 1000-Derived Output Devices — Advance Paris uses the same NJW0281G and NJW0302G high-current transistor family found in its larger power-amplifier designs to provide strong dynamics and loudspeaker control.
700VA Toroidal Power Supply — The oversized toroidal transformer gives both channels access to substantial current reserves for demanding music passages and lower-impedance loudspeakers.
Selectable High-Bias Circuit — A rear-panel switch increases output-stage bias so the first watts operate in Class A. At higher output levels, the amplifier automatically transitions into Class AB.
Compartmentalized Chassis Construction — The ultra-rigid internal structure separates key circuits to improve shielding and reduce unwanted interaction between power and signal sections.
No. The X-A160 EVO is a dedicated stereo power amplifier and requires a compatible preamplifier, processor or source component with variable analog outputs.
Advance Paris rates the amplifier at 160 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 240 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms.
Yes. It includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, with a rear-panel selector for choosing the connection type in use.
Advance Paris specifically lists the X-P700 as a suitable matching preamplifier, although the X-A160 EVO can also be used with other compatible audiophile preamplifiers.
Preamplifier, RCA/XLR interconnects, speaker cable, source components and loudspeakers are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
