The Advance Paris ACD APEX CD Player combines precision digital playback with a tube-based analog output stage designed to bring warmth, harmonic richness and musicality to compact disc listening. A Wolfson WM8761 DAC handles digital-to-analog conversion, while Raytheon 5744 NOS micro-tubes are used in the analog output section before the signal reaches the balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connections.
Designed as the matching digital source for Advance Paris’s APEX electronics, the ACD APEX also provides optical and coaxial digital outputs for use with an external DAC or compatible digital amplifier. A front-panel USB port supports convenient playback of MP3 and FLAC files from a USB drive, while the included REM-19 remote provides system control alongside compatible APEX amplifiers.
Raytheon 5744 NOS Micro-Tubes — Advance Paris uses robust Raytheon miniature tubes in the analog output stage to provide the musical character central to the APEX CD player design.
WM8761 Digital-to-Analog Conversion — The Wolfson DAC converts CD and supported USB audio data before feeding the tube-driven analog section.
Dual Analog & Digital Output Architecture — Listeners can use the internal DAC and tube section through RCA or XLR, or bypass them entirely through optical or coaxial digital output.
APEX 30th Anniversary Styling — The compact 430mm-wide chassis is designed to visually complement A8 APEX, A10 APEX and A12 APEX amplifiers, with coordinated remote functionality through the REM-19 handset.
Yes. Its analog output stage uses Raytheon 5744 NOS miniature tubes, which Advance Paris selected for their durability and musical presentation.
Yes. Optical TOSLINK and coaxial RCA digital outputs allow the player to send a digital signal to an external DAC or compatible digital amplifier.
Yes. The front USB port supports compatible MP3 and FLAC playback up to 16-bit/44.1kHz.
Yes. It includes balanced stereo XLR outputs with a maximum output voltage of 4V RMS, in addition to standard RCA outputs rated at 2V RMS.
Analog interconnects, XLR cables, digital cables, amplifier, loudspeakers and USB storage devices are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
