Hybrid Integrated Amplifier • ECC81/12AT7 Tube Preamplification • 76W/Ch into 8Ω • ESS9018 DAC • High-Bias Class A/B • HDMI eARC • MM Phono
The Advance Paris A8 APEX Integrated Amplifier brings the hybrid architecture of Advance Paris’s larger APEX amplifiers into a more compact chassis. Two ECC81/12AT7 tubes handle the preamplifier stage, while a Class A/B transistor output section delivers 76 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 110 watts per channel into 4 ohms for confident control of a wide range of bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers.
An ESS9018 DAC, HDMI eARC, asynchronous USB audio, optical and coaxial digital inputs, MM phono stage and seven line-level RCA inputs give the A8 APEX the flexibility to anchor a complete modern stereo system. PRE-OUT and AMP-IN connections support future system expansion, while a dedicated subwoofer output makes it straightforward to build a high-performance 2.1 system.
ECC81/12AT7 Tube Preamp Stage — Two tubes are used ahead of the transistor power amplifier to combine tube-based tonal character with the control and output capability of Class A/B amplification.
ESS9018 Digital-to-Analog Converter — The built-in ESS DAC handles digital sources connected through optical, coaxial, USB audio and HDMI eARC inputs.
240VA Toroidal Transformer — A substantial toroidal power supply supports stable current delivery and helps the A8 APEX maintain dynamic control with compatible loudspeakers.
High-Bias Class A/B Architecture — The selectable High-Bias function doubles the Class A bias setting, allowing the amplifier to remain in Class A operation over a greater portion of its lower-power output range.
Yes. The preamplifier section uses two ECC81/12AT7 tubes, while the main output stage uses transistor-based Class A/B amplification.
Yes. One of the analog inputs is a dedicated moving-magnet phono input with a grounding terminal for compatible MM turntables.
Yes. HDMI eARC provides stereo PCM audio from a compatible television, while HDMI-CEC allows compatible TV controls to manage amplifier power and volume.
Bluetooth is optional. The A8 APEX provides a dedicated connection for the Advance Paris A-BTC Bluetooth receiver, which adds compatible wireless audio functionality.
A-BTC Bluetooth receiver, source components, analog and digital interconnects, speaker cable, loudspeakers and powered subwoofer are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
