Reference Three-Way Floorstanding Loudspeaker • Carbon-Fiber Midrange and Bass Drivers • 29mm Soft-Dome Tweeter • Curved RSC Cabinet • Aluminum Front Baffle • 92dB Sensitivity
The Acoustic Energy Corinium Floor-standing Speaker (Pair) represents the culmination of a three-year development project created to advance the company’s long-standing principles of speed, clarity, dynamics and musical involvement. Designed for medium to large listening rooms, its three-way architecture combines a 29mm soft-dome tweeter, dedicated 120mm carbon-fiber midrange driver and two purpose-built 140mm carbon-fiber bass drivers.
A curved Resonance Suppression Composite cabinet, substantial aluminum front baffle and carefully engineered crossover provide a rigid, low-resonance platform for the drivers. With a rated sensitivity of 92dB, 200-watt power handling and bass extension reaching 32Hz at −6dB, the Corinium delivers expansive scale and deep low-frequency authority while preserving focused imaging, articulate vocals and finely resolved high-frequency detail.
Wide-Bandwidth Carbon-Fiber Midrange Driver — The dedicated 120mm midrange unit covers the critical region between 260Hz and 3.4kHz. By operating across approximately five octaves, it reproduces much of the musical spectrum from one closely controlled source for consistent tonal character and precise imaging.
Dual 140mm Bass System — Two custom carbon-fiber bass drivers provide the surface area and displacement required for deep, powerful low frequencies. The drivers operate within the reflex-loaded cabinet to deliver extension down to a rated 32Hz at −6dB.
29mm Soft-Dome Tweeter and Waveguide — The lightweight tweeter is mounted within a shallow waveguide designed to manage dispersion and improve its acoustic integration with the midrange driver around the 3.4kHz crossover point.
Curved Resonance Suppression Composite Enclosure — The cabinet uses Acoustic Energy’s layered RSC construction in varying thicknesses, paired with a 6mm aluminum front baffle. The enclosure also leans backward by approximately six degrees to aid acoustic time alignment between the drivers.
The Corinium is intended primarily for medium to large listening rooms. Its high sensitivity, dual bass drivers and substantial cabinet allow it to produce convincing scale and low-frequency output in larger spaces, while careful positioning can also accommodate many moderately sized rooms.
The speaker has a rated sensitivity of 92dB and a nominal impedance of four ohms. It does not necessarily require exceptionally high wattage, but it should be paired with a stable, high-quality amplifier capable of supplying good current into a four-ohm loudspeaker load.
No. The Corinium uses a single set of high-quality speaker terminals intended for standard single-wire connection with compatible banana plugs, spade connectors or appropriately prepared bare speaker cable.
Begin with the speakers spaced evenly from the listening position and placed away from nearby walls. Small adjustments to rear-wall distance and toe-in can then be used to balance bass response, center-image focus and high-frequency energy for the room.
Amplifier, source components, speaker cables, interconnects and powered subwoofer are sold separately.
