Designed utilizing the same woofer and tweeter technology as the in-wall models, the C128Be 8-inch (200mm) 2-way in-ceiling loudspeaker is perfect for use as rear / height channels in media rooms or for high-end 2-channel distributed audio systems. The 8-inch (200mm) Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC) Aluminum Cone Woofer provides plenty of bass extension that blends seamlessly with Revel PerformaBe in-walls and in-room loudspeakers. A zero-bezel magnetically attached and paintable grille allows the C128Be to blend into any décor and with elements including Beryllium Tweeters with Acoustic Waveguides and Patented Revel DNA it is sure to deliver unparalleled detail and a cohesive soundstage. Additionally, the C128Be shares the same caliber of components and acoustic signature as the PerformaBe in-wall and in-room speakers allowing it to be mixed and matched to systems where bookshelf or floor standing versions may already exist.
At the heart of the C128Be is a 1-inch (25mm) Beryllium tweeter driven by dual-neodymium magnets. The powerful tweeter is mated to an Acoustic Lens waveguide that seamlessly integrates with the directivity of the companion woofer driver resulting in greater efficiency, improved dynamic range, reduced distortion, and increased power handling compared to aluminum or titanium tweeters.
The 8-inch (200mm) aluminum cone woofer utilizes a Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC) cone for improved performance. DCC is a plasma electrolytic oxidation process that uses a plasma discharge to create a coarse ceramic coating on both sides of the aluminum core. The deep ceramic layers sandwiching the aluminum core provide constrained layer damping that push cone breakup modes outside of the passband allowing the driver to maintain ideal pistonic motion throughout its range. DCC cones combine with optimized motor magnetics to deliver improved mid- and low-frequency performance.
Revel PerformaBe crossover networks utilize all film capacitors and air core inductors in the midrange and tweeter circuits. These premium components allow Revel's world-class engineers to extract nuances and details from music that would otherwise be lost. Combined with traditional Revel high-order crossover slopes and proprietary Acoustic Lens waveguide geometry, transducer integration is seamless.
