Built with a high-rigidity lightweight plinth, double brace technology mounted between the tonearm hub and main bearing, a precision 12mm OptiWhite float glass platter, and the acclaimed hand-assembled RB330 tonearm, this high-performance turntable can be configured without a cartridge or factory-fitted with your choice of the Rega Nd3 MM or Rega Nd5 MM cartridge.

What are the differences between the available cartridge options?

The Rega Planar 3 Turntable can be purchased without a cartridge if you wish to mount your own, with the Rega Nd3 (using a bonded elliptical stylus and neodymium magnet), or with the upgraded Rega Nd5 (featuring a nude elliptical diamond stylus for superior detail retrieval).

Do factory-installed Rega cartridges require manual alignment?

No. Factory-mounted Rega Nd3 and Nd5 cartridges use Rega’s 3-point mounting system, ensuring exact overhang, alignment, and tracking geometry straight out of the box.

Does this turntable require a phono preamplifier?

Yes. The Planar 3 outputs a raw Moving Magnet phono signal when equipped with the Nd3 or Nd5 cartridge and requires an amplifier with a dedicated Phono MM input or an external standalone phono preamplifier.

Is a dust cover included with the turntable?
