The M&K Sound S150 THX Bookshelf Speaker (Each) is a reference-level passive monitor created for professional cinema sound design, music production, and uncompromising home theater systems. Its dual 5.25-inch fiberglass bass/midrange drivers and three-tweeter high-frequency array deliver exceptional clarity, precise imaging, and the dynamic capability needed to reveal every detail in a recording or soundtrack.
The current S150 builds on one of M&K Sound’s most celebrated studio-monitor designs with updated acoustic technologies inspired by the flagship S300. Its sealed enclosure, high sensitivity, and wide amplifier compatibility make it equally effective as a left, center, or right speaker in a high-performance multichannel system.
Professional Three-Tweeter Configuration — Three closely spaced soft-fabric-dome tweeters provide controlled vertical dispersion, excellent dialogue intelligibility, and a broad, consistent horizontal listening area.
Phase-Focused Crossover Engineering — M&K Sound’s crossover topology aligns the drivers in both the frequency and time domains for focused imaging and accurate reproduction on and off axis.
Low-Compression Driver System — Updated tweeters and fiberglass bass/midrange drivers maintain clarity and tonal balance as playback levels increase.
Rigid Sealed Cabinet — The acoustic-suspension enclosure provides fast transient response, predictable placement, and controlled integration with an M&K Sound powered subwoofer.
Yes. The S150 is sold as a single speaker, allowing you to choose the exact quantity required for stereo, LCR, or multichannel installations.
Yes. The S150 is designed for left, center, or right-channel use. Using identical S150 speakers across the front soundstage provides ideal tonal consistency and seamless imaging.
Yes. Its specified response extends to 75Hz, so a powered subwoofer is recommended for full-range music reproduction and deep home theater effects.
M&K Sound recommends an amplifier rated between 25 and 500 watts per channel. The amplifier should also be capable of safely driving a nominal 4-ohm loudspeaker load.
