High-precision disc drive mechanism — built with a custom-damped loader tray and isolated drive motor to eliminate mechanical vibration and read errors during disc traversal.
Balanced XLR & gold-plated RCA outputs — features professional balanced XLR line outputs alongside single-ended RCA outputs for optimal signal transmission to high-end preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers.
Linear toroidal power supply architecture — powered by a multi-stage linear power supply using a custom toroidal transformer to isolate analog and digital rails, ensuring whisper-quiet noise floors.
USB-A hi-res media playback — includes a rear-panel USB port supporting direct playback of high-resolution PCM audio files including FLAC, WAV, AAC, and MP3 from external flash drives.
FAQ — Arcam CD25 CD Player
How does the flagship Radia CD25 compare to the CD5 model?
The Arcam CD25 CD Player upgrades to ESS's flagship ES9056PRO 32-bit DAC (versus ES9018K2M in the CD5), adds professional balanced XLR analog outputs, and incorporates an upgraded multi-stage linear power supply for superior dynamic range and lower noise floor.
Can I use the CD25 strictly as a CD transport with an external DAC?
Yes. The CD25 includes both optical Toslink and coaxial S/PDIF digital outputs, allowing you to bypass its internal DAC engine and output the pure digital stream directly to an outboard DAC or digital preamplifier.
What audio formats are supported via the USB-A port?
The USB-A media port supports playback of high-resolution digital files up to 24-bit/192kHz, including FLAC, WAV, AIFF, AAC, and MP3 stored on USB memory drives.
Which amplifier best complements the Arcam CD25 CD Player?
It is aesthetically and acoustically matched to the flagship Arcam Radia A25 or SA45 Class G integrated amplifiers, particularly when connected using balanced XLR interconnect cables.
