The Audio-Technica AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet Cartridge combines Audio-Technica's versatile VM95 generator platform with a 0.3 × 0.7 mil bonded elliptical stylus for clear, detailed and dependable vinyl playback. The elliptical profile makes more precise contact with the groove walls than a conventional conical stylus, helping retrieve fine musical information and reduce tracing distortion while maintaining straightforward setup and everyday usability.
Audio-Technica's dual moving magnet architecture uses separate magnets corresponding to the left and right channels of a stereo record groove, while an aluminum-pipe cantilever efficiently transfers stylus movement to the generator. The modular VM95 cartridge body accepts the complete range of compatible AT-VMN95 replacement styli, making the AT-VM95E an excellent starting point for listeners who may want to upgrade to nude elliptical, MicroLinear or Shibata performance later.
Bonded Elliptical Diamond — The 0.3 × 0.7 mil elliptical profile provides a narrower contact radius than a conical stylus, allowing it to follow finer groove modulation and reproduce additional detail.
VM Dual-Magnet Generator — Audio-Technica's VM architecture positions separate magnets to correspond with the left and right channels of the stereo groove, helping maintain consistent channel reproduction and imaging.
Aluminum-Pipe Cantilever — The rigid, lightweight aluminum cantilever transfers stylus movement efficiently to the cartridge generator for reliable tracking and transient response.
Modular VM95 Architecture — Every VM95 cartridge shares the same basic body design, allowing compatible VM95 conical, elliptical, nude elliptical, MicroLinear, Shibata and 78 RPM stylus assemblies to be interchanged.

No. The AT-VM95E is a moving-magnet cartridge with a 4.0 mV output and is designed for use with a compatible MM phono input or moving-magnet phono preamplifier, typically using a 47,000-ohm load.
