SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System (Set of 4) – SVS

Improve Subwoofer Performance, Eliminate Room Rattle & Be a Better Neighbor
The SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System works with nearly every subwoofer brand and model to improve bass performance while reducing floor and wall vibrations, noise artifacts and complaints from neighbors or roommates. De-coupling a subwoofer from the floor results in inherently tighter and cleaner sounding bass. It’s also the next best thing to sound-proofing and ideal for carpeted rooms, hardwood floors or any space where room rattles, buzzes or vibrations are present.

How Does De-Coupling Improve Performance
Decoupling is making the interaction between a subwoofer and floor so weak that virtually no energy is transferred between them. The SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System features rigorously tested optimized durometer elastomer feet that significantly reduces the transmission of subwoofer energy through your floor and walls. This allows low frequency effects to be transferred through the air where they can be felt, resulting in tighter and cleaner sounding bass, no more distracting buzz or rattle from the room, and better sonic clarity and dynamics.

Be a Better Neighbor
Infrasonic jolts and subterranean levels of bass bring our entertainment to life, but they can also disturb neighbors and roommates because the longer, low frequency sound waves travel more effortlessly through walls and floors than mid-range and high frequency waves. It’s the reason your neighbor can hear a helicopter descending much louder than glass breaking. The SVS SoundPath Isolation System drastically reduces the bass notes and low frequency vibrations your neighbors and roommates will notice.

A Discreet, Affordable Alternative to Subwoofer Platforms and Risers
The SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System feet come in a variety of thread sizes that easily screw into any subwoofer’s existing threaded inserts and subtly elevate the sub enclosure on a cushion of elastomer encased in stainless steel. The understated feet are a stylish, more effective alternative to bulky risers and platforms, at a fraction of the cost and also work with some turntables and other components.

Thanks again to AudioLab for the usual stellar service! Regarding these feet…. I love bass…. BUT, it’s got to be clean and tight. 99% of my use is for music so I don’t want to hear it unless it’s in the original recording and then, I want it smooth and flat. The route to this sound is isolation from the room. Through experimentation and considerable measurements, I found that suspending the sub(s) on shot filled stands ~24″ above the floor produces the best results. HOWEVER, this system only works if the sub is not down firing (port or driver) giving you a clear “bottom” to set on the stand. I created a 2×2 array which is truly amazing with extension to 21Hz which is perfect for most any music genre.

Enter the SVS feet. On another of my systems, I needed a way to isolate 2 -12″ bottom ported subs from each other as they are a 1×1 stacked array. For those not familiar with stacking subs, do a search and give it a try! I installed the SVS feet on top unit and immediately noticed the tighter bass on really low frequency content. The feet also smoothed out the response from the interaction between the 2 and cancelled a peak @ 27Hz. While the bottom sub is not on SVS feet (yet) I fully expect to buy another set and reap the benefits. For those interested, the bottom sub is elevated 3″ from the floor for port clearance so I’m still trying to figure out how to make a spacer since the SVS feet are about half the height needed.

Your milage may vary with isolation but one fact is that subs do sound better when isolated and I can’t think of a better way to accomplish this than using the SVS Sub Iso System.
